Holy hell. I decided to read another bad review to see the reasoning.

One bad review I saw kept complaining about the racial/apartheid allegory. Took like a whole page bitching about it.

Mindless rant. That must have been the first rotten review that was up yesterday. All I got from it was that the author is a raving lunatic.

I'm not really the type who gives a crap about reviews but, hearing this is pretty reassuring to my hype for this movie, lol. I've been wanting to see this movie ever since I first saw the preview. I would drop extra bucks to see this movie on IMAX.

After seeing a 94% RT rating, I had to see this movie. It did not let me down. The movie keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time, its not too long and its not too short, and by the end of it, you'll be thinking to yourself, "holy shit!".
Being a Peter Jackson film, I did not expect anything less, but this one is a keeper.

*Warning: Spoilers Below*

I especially liked the relationship between alien and human and how they were able to communicate so well. They were coexisting and yet everyday life was going on as normal. Very cool. Also at the end when one of his eyes are alien like, just adds to the coolness factor.
Oh and alien guns kick ass. Period.

I really want to go watch it. I'm gonna get some friends together and go see it in IMAX. Are they showing it in IMAX?

EDIT: Just checked. Don't think they are.

I saw the movie last night; the weapons they use in there are freaking cool; it reminds me of the halo's weapons.

This is the best movie I've seen all year, from any genre.

In fact, this movie crosses many genres. The first part is only just interviews, but it's truly quite disturbing. The latter part of the movie is more like Black Hawk Down, except the enemy is us humans.

Shaky cam? RED Cinema Shaky Cam from what I understand. Peter was the first major sign-on and shot some shorts with the RED proto-types. So many levels that make me want to see it!

I would put that in a spoiler tag, but yea movie is very disturbing at times...
As spoilers go, that would be extremely minor. Nonetheless, as suggested I tried to put it in a spoiler, except I couldn't find a spoiler tag.

Sorry, but I couldn't wait for this movie to be over. Didn't care for any characters, either human or praun (although the kid was kinda cool). Didn't understand why the praun cared about the human, considering the human repeatedly dicked him over and used him to get his way. And there's no excuse for the extensive use of shaky cam. WTF people? Why is this necessary? It's disorienting, and detracts from my enjoyment of the film.

Didn't really care about the social commentary. Couldn't really care about much of anything, too distracted by a serious case of nausea from the shaky cam.

I personally loved it, the movie will elicit a different response however from some as they may realize how true this movie is about the human race...

LOVED LOVED LOVED this movie. personal favorite for this year. And I didnt think it had too much shaky cam. certainly nothing like Blair witch or cloverfield. Those two movies made me nauseous...this one didnt.

I highly recommend this movie to everyone...even people who arent huge fans of sci-fi. The cinematography made suspension of disbelief pretty easy. I will definitely see this one again. They need to make more original movies like this.

As an aside, Im already predicting that District 10 will suck (they will be stupid not to make a sequel based on how much money this movie will end up making). The surprise hit of this movie will cause some big studio to buy up the rights to the sequel who will hire michael bay to direct the sequel and thus suck all the life out of what could be an awesome sequel. Yes, I am aware that I might be talking out of my ass, but I have a strong feeling it will go like how I said.

I just saw it, it seemed like an independent film almost...not sure why.

I liked the idea of it, showing aliens as being 'good', that they have a soul/heart.

I disliked how they threw in 3-4 shaky cams hots, made me luls and think underbudget...

Wouldn't say it was the best film every made, but it wasn't bad.

overall, 8.5/10!

The praun cared because it was showing him as the better "person". When you look at this movie, the humans were the real monsters of it.

It`s obvious that you have issues that had nothing to do with shaky cam or anything else....you possibly don`t think very much....or need to be the life of the party...lol
