Viacom and Dish Network are fighting about a rate hike that Viacom wants. Dish refuses and therefore Viacom yanks their programming. Read CNN.com for more details.
I am tired of these companies airing their dirty laundry across the airwaves. I am tired of seeing broadcasts modified by both parties, detracting from my enjoyment of the programming. I am furious that Dish won't let subscribers out of their contracts, even though we paid a $3 per month rate hike recently and now we are missing 10 of our basic subscription channels! You want to see a revolution in the streets? Tell Dish Network people they cannot see regional NCAA conference championships or any of the 64 teams in the big dance. March Madness? Yes, indeed.
If you want public opinion to be on your side. If you want to show people that you are presidential material. If you want to show that you truly fight for the common man, then you need to voice your dismay at this fight. You need to step in and mediate this issue. You need to protect consumers from being jerked around whenever corporations grab for more profits. You need to serve the interests of your constituency.
Thank you for your time.
