I live in Louisville, KY. Grew up in Michigan, where I would watch many of the Red Wings games on cable. My GF bought me a year of Dish Network service (first time ever having satellite), and specifically she ordered a package that included channel 430 (Fox Sports Detroit).

In the 10 days that I've had the Dish service, 3 Red Wings games were scheduled for air on Fox Sports Detroit, and all three of them were unavailable for me to view due to local restrictions. I called Dish to inquire and some dude reading off of a script attempted to explain something to me about blackouts and how they (Dish) has no control over it, blah blah.

Kinda frustrating, but I guess it's just the way it is. I'm just wondering how common this is? Like I said I'm 0 for 3 so far and and this point I'm wondering if I'll ever be able to see a Detroit game, period. Worst sports package ever so far.

you wont
cancel the package

only way to get out of network games is to get the NHL package

If you're talking about Dish's "Center Ice" package, they said that the same blackouts can apply to those games too. So I guess that means it would be just like it already is now, but paying an extra $150 for not being able to see the games.

Center Ice is hit and miss ... I have it on FIOS in Indiana and have been blacked out for some real head scratchers like Pittsburgh/Boston. This was a normal game not being televised on anything but regional networks. I called and got the "it's blacked out in your area" response.
