There was a black ice storm a couple days ago, and I skidded into a curb, denting my wheel, which pierced my tire. Both needed to be replaced, so I headed over to discount tire and they gave me a deal since I bought my tires from them originally. I got a brand new pirelli tire for 50 plus a alloy wheel for 100, not bad imo. Alloy wheel is coming from cali, but all should be good on monday, they even put on my spare hehe. : )

+1 for them, excellent service

That is very cheap for an alloy wheel. It cost me $250 for one on a 1999 Grand Prix, but the replacement wheel looked like it came from the factory .. nice and shiny, no defects.

yeah, i guess its from their stock, when people buy their wheels and leave their stock with discount tire. Then they just resell them, not too bad of an idea. Hmmm snow is coming soon, and my spare is 11 years old...interesting lol

I don't have any experience with their brick and mortar store but I've ordered a set of tires from them. The price was lower than tirerack given that the shipping was included. Definitely worth a look to comparison shop.

I just got a new set of 295/45 r20 General Grabber UHP for $600 even. That beat every other dealer in town and beat all of the internet sites by a very large margin ($80-120!).
I'll keep doing business with them if they keep the bargains rolling!

Them: We will give you the best value...come on in so we can get you a right quote

Me: No, I am sure I know my tire size

Them: No, come in just to be sure, we will not give quotes over the phone. We will have the best value anyways.

Me: OK.

Me: Can I have a quote on these tires...*shows him tirerack quote*

Them: That will be $860 installed (Dunlop SP Sport 17 in)

Me: what? You got to be kidding....

Them: It's a great deal....but for a better tire, you will get this (shows me Toyo tires) and it will be $970 installed.

Me: Ummm....you guys are expensive....why can't you price match?

Them: We don't b/c we have unmatched value. They do not include mounting in that quote

Me: How? Mounting is not $90 a tire.....

Them: We give you this, that, and those (this , that and those was just free tire rotation, free tire maintanance and free car rental)...We can't be beat.

I purchased a set of Yokohamas from DiscountTire for my 2002 Focus SE. They have an 80,000 mileage warranty. On the winding, hilly, back roads of WV, which is most of the roads in the state, you are doing good to get half the warranty mileage out of a tire. I check my tire pressure weekly and rotate every 5,000 miles.
No where on their website does it state how they handle the mileage warranty. After 45,000 miles my tires were worn down to the wear bars. I called their customer service and offered to email them photos of the tires, but they said that was not necessary and offered me a new set of prorated tires at almost half off. Wow, what service and trust. :thumbsup:

Yeah, I had to get a new set of tires just a week ago (Goodyear Triple Treads)

TireRack: $113x4 + 13.56x4 (road hazard warranty) + $58 shipping + $15x4 (local mount/balance) = $624.24 + a few dollars extra like tire disposal and taxes.
DiscountTire B&M: $560 out the door with their optional (and better) road hazard warranty.

Tire Rack was already a good bit cheaper than everyone else I called locally, but DiscountTire owned them all. First they price matched. Then, when I asked if there were any deals going on, the guy said that a $40 Goodyear mail-in rebate just ended; so he cut $50 from the price of the set. Then he offered me their extra warranty at half-price when I sounded a bit unsure about it.

Discount Tire rocks. they do free rotations if you buy your tires from them. plus, they buy back your old tires... i sold them 5 of my tires (1 spare) with 14,000 miles on them for $200.

Discount's road hazard warranty is great. We've never had any problems getting damaged tires replaced. Also, with the recent Dill valve stem recall Discount was on top of it, sending us a letter asking us to bring in our car for free valve stem replacements well before we read about the recall in the newspaper.

Costco is good, but they have a limited selection. NOt sure if they charge to mount though.

Discount Tire is awesome. I've used them for 3-4 vehicles over the past 5 years as well as recommending to many others and have never, ever had a problem.

Also had good luck with Discount, we don't have many other options in our area, one of the major ones is Tires Plus, not sure if they are located anywhere but the midwest. I think they are originally from MN, anyway whatever you do don't use Tires Plus in fact avoid them like the plague, I've had more issues with them than I can count and every time I said I wouldn't go back but for convenience sake I did and ended up getting screwed. Went to Discount a few years ago and have been using them ever since. For whatever reason they are able to mount tires on wheels without scratching them all up, who would have thought that was possible???? That and they always seem willing to give me a discount or price match on tires. Good stuff!!!

I prefer Discount over Costco or any of the other tire places. They've always done me right, fast, good pricing.

The only problem I have with Discount Tire Store is that they don't do alignments. You will probably need one after hitting the curb.

a tire place that does not do alignments? I have never seen that.....but hey, they are cheaper than everyone else....

I don't think it's the same place, but I love DTD-- bought my truck tires from them via eBay- with Live cashback, I got quite the deal. :)

Actually you were right, I had to get an allignment, at TIREDISCOUNTERS haha, wow fail, cost me 80 dollars
