That's interesting.
And here I thought I was the only one hearing the distortion also.
I run with an albatron NF2 mobo with that soundstorm stuff and I have a feeling it might be the problem.
I have been fiddling with my SPDIF DD5.1 setup and my analog miniplug logitech speakers and I've discovered a few things:
(1). Doom3 audio on analog logitech speakers sound great
(2). Doom3 audio on DD5.1 setup is scratchy and distorted at times(It's actually QUITE often)
(3). DVDs on analog logitech setup sound fine
(4). DVDs on DD5.1 setup sound awesome
Having figured these things out, I worry that the soundstorm DD5.1 might have some strange inability to play well with doom3. It seems to work fine otherwise though. Does anyone else have an NF2 mobo with soundstorm using the SPDIF to output to a DD5.1 receiver/speaker setup for doom3?
