dirty bomb - as in radioactive stuff? I thought the US had the capability to track radioactivity... concentrate enough in one spot and it'll show up like a sore thumb on satellite images. Maybe I'm wrong. If I'm wrong, wtf is taking us so long to develop that technology?!

not if it is shielded

also, some of the most dangerous contamination materials only give off alpha particles which are shielded by paper, so they don't even have to put that into a lead box

don't mix up materials that are highly radiactive (as in high gamma/neutron sources) with materials that will highly contaminate people/areas
