directx video gaming HELP

yeah, i always had sound it was something else, i got it mixed up.
the problem was the directx which works but i dont know if i should be worried about the directsound error and the sfc scan.

the windows does have a weird problem remembering settings of certain programs after rebooting.

the sound doesnt have a problem, forget i mentioned that.
could be that certain services are disabled. let me know which services are relevant to check.

okay, those are okay, I'd disable messenger, telnet,clipbook.
try running it for a while, you may want to download all the drivers and put them on a cd, in case you have to reload windows.

what is Remote Procedure Call and RPC Locator status? and startup type?

rpc is automatic and started, rpc locator is manual but not started.
what do you mean by startup type? in msconfig its on selective startup, everything is checked and it says to use a modified boot.ini

that's not msconfig. if you type that and it brings up msconfig, you have a big problem. and in msconfig, it should be on normal startup.

no no, when you asked about startup type i went into msconfig cause i dont know what else you could be referring to.

okay. wish the sfc had not thrown the error, and if you're happy with how it is running, I'd say this is fixed.
