no one should rely on wireless for workstation connectivity anyways imo(puts on network engineer hat), its for when wired just isnt an option

....and in case anyone was following this closely. Effective today, DirecTV is offering wireless setups with Genie installations. One cable to your Genie and no cables to any of your client boxes (except from the Client to the TV).

I tried to get this to work with my RVU TV, and it did not work for some reason. Still requires a wired ethernet connection to the TV for some reason. Maybe there will is a firmware upgrade for the TV?

No, it's a whole different installation. You'll need wireless MiniGenies and an ethernet video bridge that are supplied by DirecTV. I'm not sure that the RVU TV won't work in place of the wireless MiniGeni once the ethernet video bridge is installed, but you'll certainly need that installed first.
