DirecTV DSL is gone-

i havent got anything about it disconnecting in NY. i just called them b/c i was having problems and the guy didnt mention anything. They even sent me a new modem
 
BTW, in DirecWay's FAQs or thereabout, there's something about limited bandwidth during peak hours. You're flagged if you download more than 200MB from 5-7pm, for example. I think it's something about a temporary cap.
 
WTH? . .. . I love my DSL!. . . now I have to go through the hassle of signing up again. . I guess I'm going cable this time.
 
After a little browsing, guess my only option is Yahoo/SBC, they're the only other game in town🙁

Evidently they track & sell your surfing habits, your personal data etc...🙁
 
OK...this is the suckiest suck that sucked in a while. We love our Directv! I hate getting new email addresses and all that crap. Not to mention that the speeds we are allowed are way higher on Directv than they are on other area providers. Maybe we'll switch to cable....

Sure, everytime I get something theat WORKS or that I like, they cancel it or stop selling it.

Reminds me of being an the service and eating in the chow hall. If they found they had something you really liked, they never served it again.

Just got off the phone with Speakeasy. Seems that they just got a memo (sales reps) not to offer the free game consoles to existing DTV customers. However, there is some other promotional package that is being offered. He did say that if you just "twisted their arms" a bit we could get the free game consoles anyway. YMMV

Sh1t. I just ordered SBC-Yahoo...freakin won't be ready till 22nd...no online play for me for 2 weeks. 🙁

Don't feel bad. I've been w/o DSL since 12/27. I just got my loop install date of 1/9. I was getting impatient but now I'm just dealing with it.
