I'll believe in the GTX-590 when I see it in someone reputable's hands and they say they've hooked it up and it works. :p

AMD might feel like they have the fastest card, or it's as fast as they can get it, and are going to play the pricing game. I'd like to see it at around $600USD.

Your last point is very valid and I hadn't looked at it from that angle. It seems like these cards are a bit more complicated to produce than simply slap 2 GPU's with double the mem on a PCB, adjust the clocks to acceptable power levels, throw it in a box, and sell it. They'll need to sell a few of them before the next gen. to recoup the expenses, I'd imagine.

Which is faster, 6970CF or 570SLI ?

Take that into account and the only unknowns left are what speed these cards will come clocked at.

Which uses more power? If they were both forced to operate at 150W ea. which would be faster? Would either be any faster than dual 6870 under those conditions? What are nVidia and AMD going to come up with to answer these questions? That's really what I'm waiting for. Hopefully they show some ingenuity in overcoming the obstacles two chips this powerful on one card presents.

So is this more than just the usual BS rumour? Just seems like we've heard this before since about a year ago.

or which is faster 6950CF or gtx580 in sli.

Unless you know something we don't?

His comparison seemed for spot on as those cards could easily be used for a Dual GPU card. The 6950 has too much headroom, the 580 would use too much power.

Unless you know something we don't?

only unknowns

If these are the "only unknowns" please show us you links to actual official specs.

Official links to show the sp,tmu, rop, counts or memory amounts of both chips or fud and misinformation it is.

and mine "could"

Your what could do what?

Also, I asked if there is anything you know that we don't?

I remember you said the 23 we would see the 590 right? Now its mid may and not so much as a photo?

You willing to make another guess when its coming out?

I'll point you to post 33 also Skurge.

If he said might or mabe I might agree. He is stating a fact and as we all know facts need to be backed up with official links.

Works both ways.

Any links to prove this card is even real ? Anything from nvidia ?

Nope, nothing, right.

The 590 is coming with two 570 cores.

I don't see a might or a maybe in any of those posts. Do you have official links or is it just FUD and misinformation?

Again, I point both you guys to post 33 and I still see nothing.:(

The best I've see so far is the BACK of a supposed 6990 pcb.
I've seen no gtx590.

I've seen no official specs for either card.

So I want to see you back up your "facts" with links to official statements or official reviews.

Lets see you spin your way out of that one. :)

There is a 300watt wall... you have to stay within those.

AMD cards have more performance/watt, and a big dual gpu card is gonna run into that 300watt wall, performance/watt comes into play.

Im gonna take a wild guess and say the 6990 will be faster than the 590.

I'm willing to bet the 590 will actually play better than the 6990 though. Forget the benchmarks and do what they were designed to do! Play games!

Are you just troling now?

Are you saying the 6990 doesn't exist and the 590 does? Its long past the 23rd and there is no 590 in sight and you have NO official links. I can piont to AMD displaying the card http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/video/...ff_Radeon_HD_6990_Dual_GPU_Graphics_Card.html

I can point you to the card on AMD's roadmap http://www.hardocp.com/image.html?image=MTI4NzY3NjAyMFZEMnhHeWRQNGZfMV80X2wuZ2lm
http://alienbabeltech.com/main/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/Strategy.jpg

As well as a preview of the card (unless you think [H] is making things up, then I know your are full of it)
http://www.hardocp.com/article/2011/02/26/amd_radeon_hd_6990_antilles_sneek_peek/1

I even have a link to AMD delaying the card, which is proof in itself.
http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/video/...tion_of_Dual_Chip_Flagship_Graphics_Card.html

So what do you have? Well? Anything official backing up the posts you made that I linked to?

Or were you just pulling numbers out you the air?

So are you going to keep trolling and spreading misinformation or are going to post those official links. I'd even take a picture at this point.

Again stick to the subject. I'll remind you of what the subject is.

Grover made a factual statement with no official links or official information to back it up and you backed him up.

Which is faster, 6970CF or 570SLI ?

Take that into account and the only unknowns left are what speed these cards will come clocked at.

I asked for links to the unknowns that were left. Sp, rop,tmu counts and memory amounts. I got nothing!!!!!!!
And you backed him up.........

His comparison seemed for spot on as those cards could easily be used for a Dual GPU card. The 6950 has too much headroom, the 580 would use too much power.

Unless you know something we don't?

And again Grover made this statement ,with NO PROOF

The 590 is coming with two 570 cores.

Now I ask both of you again. And I'm asking nicely, since I did ask first, Please back up your claims.

There is so many variables to guessing dual gpu performance its allmost impossible.

1. who can cherry pick the best chips
2. what parts of the chips should be cut down to use less power but still get the best performance
3. which chip do they choose (6970 or 6950, gtx580 or 570)
4 should they use a dual bios with 2 different clock settings to save power and sneak under the 300 watt limit. AKA turbo button. :)
5. which chips are faster and how much faster are they to begin with. 6970 vs gtx580 (example).
6. will the sli/x-fire release drivers for the dual chip cards have good working x/fire sli performance.
7. overclocking and cooling issues for maximum performance.
8. how much memory to put on the card, (power usage)

I'm sure there are more.

Yous made claims too, Yours make even less practical sense (playing cat and mouse? WTF?) so where are your links?

If you are too blind to see mine, that's your deal. I shouldn't be surprised that you ignore all the evidence infront of you and against I guess, but whatever.

I wonder how much noiser they will be... I just got 2 580's yesterday... I'll probably step up to 590's if they are released within 90 days (end of May). What do you think about 590 vs 580? Also, if they will be released by end of May?
