You're very right about this. Charlie has admitted ha got SI/NI wrong. I'm not so sure it's not on purpose (on both his and AMD's part) to help keep nVidia in the dark. His nVidia dirt seems to come straight from nVidia's board meetings though. (In reality, probably from Chinese manufacturers, is my guess.)

People actually take that tabloid serious?

I thought he was discounted when he said 8800GTX would need an external power-brick, or that the 295 was discontinued.

Well, judging by the vid card in your sig it's obvious you don't take what he says seriously. ;)

@momeanmugs:

charlie is typically very favorable towards towards daamit because he seems to truly hate nvidia. if he's predicting 2011 it's probably more than just him pulling a # out of his ass, he very likely has strong evidence to support the claim. I kinda hope he's right, though, b/c nvidia is getting smacked around enough as it is and I am currently out of the gpu market, anyway :twisted:

On the other hand Charlie isn't predicting 2011...

When is the HD6000 series launching? There have been rumors of October 12th flying around, but that is not the launch date. On October 12th, there is an event related to the 6000 series, but there won't be cards on sale until October 25 +/- a day or two depending on schedules.

What is going to launch then? The one area where AMD has a hole in their lineup is the $175-250 range, and that would be filled by the hypothetical 6700 line. In a stunning bit of coincidence, that is exactly what will launch first, shortly followed by the 6800 and 6900 line. In early 2011, the lower end parts will backfill the lineup, and that will be it. Until 28nm. Then things get really interesting.

I always find interesting when new made accounts first posts are FUD spreading.
