Nvidia 2080ti FE PCB. The VRMs are adjoining the VRAM modules (Micron apparently rated at 95c).

And below is the MSI 2080ti PCB where VRMs are nicely separated from VRAM.

There are people reporting these issues though without gaming. At idle those VRM's are not going to be hot, much less hot enough to heat the surrounding area to over 95C. And while the VRAM may be rated for 95C, components can typically run at way over their rated temp, but at the cost of a shortened life (how much shorter depends on how much over the temp is).

I would be curious what the EMI is like with the components so close though.

The RTX2080TI and RTX2080 use the same GDDR6 chips and only the RTX2080TI is affected.This seems to be more a memory controller problem or the VRMs supplying the memory controller.

Well, people are still buying them. I get emails from EVGA, newegg, and B&H when one becomes available and when I click on the link the page says out of stock.

That's the reason, among the others, why it's necessary to avoid running to buy a new hardware so fast. And it's true regrading any new product of technology. It's true for electronics, cars and actually... what not? Early adopters are the manufacturers' guinea pig and it's better to not be a part of them.

RTX cards are dying without dependence on the manufacturer. It seems that it happens in all 2080ti models.

On what? their full range of products? That is probably what they meant while the question was completely different. Of course even if 90% of 2080tis failed that would hardly be visible in such a statistic.

I think that the point was those board members were speaking from anonymity and not in an official capacity so they should be more honest.

1080Ti is now eol'd and no longer in production.

Or we just have no other options to drive our monitors at native resolution and framerates. I have 1 dead and 1 good 2080ti. Will wait to RMA till they figure out whats going on

He is trolling and he knows it! I didn't see the same behavior when the horrendously bad Vega got released. And that one fared far worse than Turing did, at least Turing has the performance and image quality to justify it's price.

GamerNexus suggests some of the issues could be related with display dependent. I had BSODs similar to this with my 2080 Ti and my 3 different monitors blue screened on all of them.
