Diet soda/pop vs regular..

Personally I really enjoy the taste of diet sodas compared to their sugary counterparts, which a lot of my friends think I'm crazy for..but for me if they taste about the same without all the excess sugars calories, there's no reason for me not to go for the diet version.

So then, what do you guys prefer, for instance when it comes to coke/pepsi..

I can't stand the taste of diet.
Since they're both as bad for you as each other (except regular has more calories) and diet tastes like ass, it's regular all the way.

Why do fat people like diet soda?

I know this guy who weighs over 250 lbs and is 5"9 inches. He pounds down 2-4 huge bottles of diet cokes while eating stale cookies. He'll buy a full pak of stale cookies for only $.25

Besides..isn't aspartame worse for you than sugar (excluding diabetics)? :Q

No, it's one of those myths that exist as a secret that it's bad for you where the real secret is that it's not.

Is Aspartame Safe? (FDA):
To date, FDA has not determined any consistent pattern of symptoms that can be attributed to the use of aspartame, nor is the agency aware of any recent studies that clearly show safety problems.

Study Reaffirms Safety of Aspartame (MIT News):
Even daily large doses of the high-intensity sweetener aspartame, also known as NutraSweet, had no adverse effect on study subjects' health and well-being, a visiting scientist at MIT reported in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition last week.

"We conclude that aspartame is safe for the general population," said Paul A. Spiers, visiting scientist in the Clinical Research Center (CRC).

I like died but I heard it can cause memory loss because of the aspartame

Read above..any negative stories you've heard from diet is all completely anecdotal and has no scientific basis to it whatsoever..

after a while u get used to diet. sugar water tastes syrupy.ick.

complain about sugar substitutes all u want.. u diabetic in waiting😉

I have been drinking Diet Rite lately and that stuff isn't too bad. The taste of splenda is a hell of a lot better thant he taste of nuitraslop.

I just drink diet now. I stopped drinking regular coke before my wedding tot help drop a few pounds, and when I went back to my beloved coke, it was to sweet to drink. 🙁

if you drink diet often enough and stop drinking regular you'll eventually forget how good the regular stuff tastes like

After drinking diet for so long regular pop almost tastes like a dessert.

I personally don't see the difference between diet and regular. They might taste differently but if you gulp enough of the diet soda, the amount of calories/sugar won't matter. It's the same with burgers. If you eat 5 "healthy" burgers, there will be no doubt in my mind that you will get fatter anyway. Sometimes, the content of the food doesn't matter, it's the servings and amount eaten that do.😉😀

5 "healthy" burgers still have a certain amount of calories/fat in them that will eventually equal that of a "normal" burger.

However any amount of diet soda will be x*0 = 0 calories..

Have you ever read the nutrition facts on diet soda? There is ZERO calories and natural sugars that your body uses in these sodas. It uses artifical sugars and stuff like Splenda. It is not like diet snackfoods where it's simply less calories, sugars, etc.
