Noted that it uses a lot more resources than Winamp or Media Player 6.4 though.

well I hope your computer can spare more resources than it did back when 6.4 was released so (for me at least) its not that big of a deal

Shrug, when I use it to play music while playing a game I want it to use as little as possible still.

enjoy it. when the legislature is passed allowing companies to delete files off your computer that may infringe on copyrights you will wish you hadn't agreed to the statement while installing.

That is the exact reason why I will not be installing it. I use 7.1 without that update the enables the deletion rights. 😛

9 sucks, I couldn't uninstall it, I hope this final release has an uninstall.

The final version is out now. I have not tried uninstalling it (nor can I imagine why I would want to).

THe final version doesn't have an uninstall either... it suggests that you set a restore point and use system restore to uninstall instead.

ghey.

i'm using whatever came with win2k i think. but mostly i use winamp 2.x. low cpu resources and it doesn't maul the wall.

Yes, I like it far more than 8, is has many new features. The way it can find all the info about a song including the album art is pretty cool.

Only installed it on my work laptop... won't be doing it for my home machine because of this. 😉

BTW... what taskbar player? Is that in mp3 / audio mode only?

no... minimize the player and it'll go to the taskbar, then right click on the taskbar go to toolbars and select WindowsMediaPlayer

hmm minimized and did what you said... no WMP toolbar in the list... but address, links, etc. is there. Using W2k.

I downloaded it and installed it on my Win98se machine, the only problem I have is when I try to view it full screen it locks my PC up.

Not hard to find the problem there! 😀

i still use mplayer2. I hate the bloated media player..i can only imagine that it gets even worse three or four versions later. Besides, it doesn't allow me to make a playlist on the bloated one (not that the mplayer2 can, but...). I dunno...i like simple things.

Still using 6.4.

Ditto. When WMP 7 came out, I was so unimpressed that I stuck with 6.4, which does everything I want it to do anyway. For mp3s, I use Winamp or an equivalent tool.

it's nothing a quick system restore can't fix 😛

D/l ing now... the ONLY reason, however, is to see just how well this "video smoothing technology" works....

If it makes no difference, back to the media player that came with XP...

Winamp for music, btw. always.
