wowie, this thread is still going! I cant think lately.... someone above said that there must be a creator that created a creator. So, in that sense there can't be a god because God's definition is something that non greater can exist. (although that term greatest is vague).
Can anyone believe that there was no beginning and there will be no end? it'll just be an ENDLESS chain of life and death. I know if you believe in this, then GOD doesnt make sense in it. But you think there is an end of space? ok, lets say there is an end somewhere, then there must be something after that "END", it might not be space but there will be something.
Endless, Infinity.. kind of mind numbing, but that's what seems more reasonable to me then TOTAL beginning and an ending.
Anyone read a book called, "Tuesdays with Morrie" ? (the book not the movie) It does have some parts where morrie refers to GOD, but i suggest that you read it, it has good points in it that can be shared between both of us.
I dont remember the exact words, but there is a little story that Morrie tells that I liked alot.
"There once was a wave in an ocean. He had great times bouncing around with other waves and playing around. Then one day the wave saw another wave infront of him breaking and dissappearing on an island shore. He was so scared and afraid, he said, " OH MY GOD! HOW CAN SOMETHING SO HORRIBLE HAPPEN TO US! LOOK IS HAPPENING INFRONT OF ME!!!". Then a wave behind him saw his face and asked, "why are you so sad?". The wave replied, "You dont know this, but we will all be destroyed, All waves will be broken!!!Isnt this horrible?".
then you know what other wave said? he said, " You dont know it well, we are not just a wave, We are part of an Ocean".
I dont like the way Mitch Albom (author) wrote the book too much, but Morrie's words are very meaningful. I suggest you read this, as it's easy to understand for a shallow man like me
