Did they kill a real Ferrari in 'The Rock'?

It was a kit car. You can see it clearly when the car smashes b/c the whole side of the car was one piece

Exactly. Definitely easiest place to tell it was a kit.
 
i wondered about that - it's not like a $250,000 car is a big deal to a movie production, the real reason not to crash a real one is that ferrari would probably get pissed off.

Even though someone says that, the movie still made millions, so, no. I don't think the studio will spend a quarter million so that geeks on a web forum shouldn't nitpick a hollywood film. Proof is, they didn't!
