Did they kill a real Ferrari in 'The Rock'?

Even if it was, the cost of the car is a drop in most big film budgets. I say do to add to the realism anyhow. It's only steel and rubber!

Cheers!

Even though someone says that, the movie still made millions, so, no. I don't think the studio will spend a quarter million so that geeks on a web forum shouldn't nitpick a hollywood film. Proof is, they didn't!

To be fair, proof would require you to show that it wasn't cause ferrari wouldn't allow it😉

I agree they wouldn't spend money needlessly, but that isn't the only possible reason.

(remembers crying at a movie for the only time ever, when they destroyed that ferrari 🙁)

That's just wrong.

Steel & rubber perhaps, but destroying a Ferrari just because you can is borderline sacrilegious.

Die hard fan of the movie...checking in.

In the ending credits, it thanx the Ferrari Company. So, I don't know if that's because they gave a car for the shooting/destruction/name use, or whatever, but that is in the credits.

I think I just contributed nothing to this thread.

Could be because Ferrari let them destroy something that represented Ferrari. 🙂

That's nothing. I was crying over the Cobra in Bad Boys.

The Cobra is like the number 1 classic kit car, ever. Unless you're saying you were crying over the death of a kit car Cobra 😛

They wouldn't need to thank them for that, right? In a movie, you can destroy whatever you want.

Well, it's not a genuine 1967 original GT500. It was built on a real '67 stang chassie with all the mods. That model is now actually being built by Shelby in a limited series of 200 and can be had for ~$120k.

Aye..and everytime they improve the performance of Turbos, they suck even more😀

Ferrari wail > Turbo lag

Aye. I just think of it as a gorgeous women wailing in the heat of the moment...

I posted a video of a Porsche that had nice sounds...

It's fake. I think its in the commentary or some website somewhere.

Nevertheless, Ferrari wasn't particularly happy with them destroying the fake one either. 🙂
