I did something really stupid and now need help to fix it.
I basically just deleted all my favorites (bookmarks) fpr the last two years.
Here is how it happened:

I was setting up an external harddrive to do my backups on.
So I thought it would be cool to install the briefcase function on it so I can synchronize/backup all my files really easily.
I dragged the favorites folder into the briefcase but then decided I wanted it to be a subfolder of a new folder "System" within the briefcase.
So I moved it within the briefcase wich resulted in all the files in the favorites folder to become orphaned.
Well, then I thought that they are orphaned/no longer connected to the original files so I can delete without problems.
I deleted them but when I did the first synchronization after that ALL the original files were removed too!!!!!
I deleted the backup version on the external harddrive and briefcase deleted the originals.

I tried doing two system restores and the files are still gone.
Is there any way to restore them? I didn't do anything to the external HD after that so the image might still be on the HD ...
I know there are some restore programs that might do this but which one (Shareware/freeware please!)?
And how does it work (I really don't want to screw this up)?

You may run into problems 'restoring' the files from your HD now you have run system restore. I know of a few programs that allow you to undelete files, after they have been removed from the recycle bin, but they only work as long as the section of the HD they were stored on hasn't been written to since. Running system restore may have done this.

PC Inspector did the job!
Great program!
The other one doesn't support this yet.

Thank you very much!
