I think that the USSR was already on it's way out but yeah Reagan sped up the process.

USSR fell under it's own weight like China is doing slower. But Reagan sure milked it for all it was worth, which was a lot of debt.

China won't collapse, but it will continue with all of its reforms.

Also, I'm going to have to add my vote to those saying Reagan accelerated it. The fact is the USSR was doomed to fail, he just made it faster.

Yah, China is going to keep growing for awhile, fueled by cheap labor, foreign investment and they are becoming more capitalistic.

Not only that, China isn't involved in a spending war with anyone. If China ceases to be a "communist" state, it will be by their own choice. Of course whether they still are "communist" or not may be the real question.

That is probably one of the hardest questions in politics. It's up there with the "is Russia a democracy" question. The problem is while there are still communist elements, biggest being the "communist" party being in charge of the nation, the fact is there is still a very large free market in China and that alone is anything but a communist ideology. There are plenty of others to argue against it being a communist nation as well.

cold war was not too tough, and i think the real cold war ended way before than what we all thought it was.
they do have some impressive engineers, very very impressive technology, but their budget was not even close to what we had.
Yes, they do have some good stuff, but, how good does that technology do if the government cant really afford to buy it nor build it.
i think the fact that the US econ market is always the greatest for the last couple decades, and their was always bad; that pretty much determined it.
although our engineers are not as engaged to the work as theirs( i seriously think their engineers are better than ours and work much harder than ours), hey we have the money to build things they cant afford, hire more engineers, and of course hire some of the best engineers from other countries.....
some ppl may not believe that the US would hire foreign scholar, well, we did... hmm, the most popular example would be those Atomic Bombs we dropped on Japan.

I give full credit to Ms. Cleo and people like her.

That speach was in 87 which is way into reagan's second term.

If you have read nancys book it reveals that SHE was running the show in the second term.

While running the show she heavily consulted "Ms. Cleo".

I dont think we give enough credit to Ms. Cleo and her kind... since they are the ones who a actually bringing world

peace ;)

Put on your boots the s#%t is getting deep around here.

did you read her book ??? if you don't then you dont have a any reason to question me.

article one
a bunch more

Ronnie was soo far into alzheimers at the end of his first term that he should never have ran for a 2nd term so nancy stepped up to run the white house

but i do admit the last line was just funny

Seems you must have been bucked by that steel horse...hope you didn't hit your head;)

Why are you doubting what nancy wrote in her book.

This is something that SHE wrote not something that someone made up.

I ask again did you read her book? If you did not then what do you have to offer that SHE is wrong ?

Also cad it is not steel it is aluminum ;)
