The auction says sells to US only.

Obvoisely, I got cheated. This is a scam somehow. What can I do now? Recourse with ebay?

I'll have to!

NO, laptop NOT sent, it just ended 5 mins ago.

Just out of curiosity I called the # listed for him and it was some closed business.

Ok, ebay sucks. I can't find any easy link on how to report fake account crap. Can someoen past me a link???

I have already forwarded email to ebays "spoof" security center. I also sent a second chance offer to highest bidder #2.

I just need to find ebays page on fake ebay'ers.

From the bid history of that auction, only garves(93), the 4th bidder is rebutable. The top 3 bidders are shady.

For the next time, make sure you do not accept bids from anyone from countries you do not ship to.
Make sure to not accept bids from anyone with a feedback score less than 0.
You can set these all up in your ebay account.

Contact him.
Explain to him politely and calmly that you will not ship to anywhere other than the States as clearly specified in the auction.
Keep everything factual.
Do not intimidate.
Leave feedback or reporting as last resort.

At the end, you may get a negative feedback.
But, that is fine as long as you do your best to resolve the issue.

You can also post a message on the ebay "Answer Center" and ask for advice.

This is the first time I've had bad luck on ebay as far as fake buyers go. I already reported item to SquareTrade, is the the way to go?

I kinda hate ebay because so many scams go on there and ever since they removed that buyer protection plan it pisses me off to use ebay so I do not anymore... It in my opinion is way too unsave.

Last time I tried to purchase a laptop off ebay which was listed at a good price but not one of those too good to be true... it was priced around what it should be and as soon as I listed that same day I got an e-mail from another ebayer saying he ordered a laptop from the same person I placed a bid on and he never recieved his.

I just have very bad luck with all auction sites so I try to stay away from them unless they have some sort of protection plan.

Oh yeah ebay will not do ****** about lost money so do not even bother... take it from me I had it happen to me and lost money

Yep, definitely crap. I tend to find this happens the most on eBay with laptops and cameras, so I try not to sell or buy those items there.

Best thing you can do is report the item to eBay, tell the guy your auction states you only ship to the U.S. and you will not sell the item to him or send it to an unverified location.

Relist the auction...somewhere in the auction setup is buyer restrictions that let you restrict people based on feedback, and if you specify U.S. shipping only, it will prevent others outside the U.S. from bidding. You'll get most of your insertion fees refunded by relisting your item, after it sells. In the meantime, to get your final value fee back, you'll need to file a non paying bidder strike with that guy who won your auction. eBay will see it how it is and side with you, and let you get your final value fee credit. I've had to do this multiple times.

Back a while ago, when I was putting together a six router, 5 hub, 1 switch cisci CCIE study system, I was buying everything on ebay.
I got screwed so many ways, it was unbelieveable.
Phony addresses, phony names, phony phone numbers.
Had to file FBI complaints on 2 guys, which enticed them to ship stuff in a few weeks (6 weeks total)
Luckily others had beed ripped off by same guys and had tracked the bastids down, and shared info with other peeps in their auctions, including the forms to fill out with FBI. Without their help, I would have lost out bigtime.

I wouldnt buy/sell anything on ebay even if it was ten cents.
I know there are folks who actually make their living there (although since they changed fees, not as many), but I dont have a clue how they do it. Its nothing but a den of theives.

WOW.......... JUST WOOOOOWWW

edit: for the post above this, I know man, there are hella lotta theives dude, my friend was telling me she used to work at a cell phone remanufacturing facility and the Sony Erickson parts would show up on ebay because she heard it from one of her buddies at the work place...

win I started work there, they had metal detectors to make sure we took metals out of our pockets because obviously the computers and cell phone parts were much more expensive than all the plastics in the factory put together. they had lunch boxes 'n bags, it was easy to make a trap door at the bottom of your lunch bag because most if not all of the times the stupid lazy security guards just had you unzip your bag and moved a few wrappers around until they'd say it's "clear." you'd walk through flawlessly and then you'd take your lunch bag full of parts home and setup up your ebay at home... REPEAT

hahaha yeah man, you would not believe how much piracy goes on with the Asian market dude, it's totally unbelievable........... DVD'S to CD's to poor inkjet produced photos... GOOD HE|_|_ ........... you know it man.

on crap_bay, I sent cash once, I was stupid, but the guy in Canada still shipped me my product. I was in high school at the time, the product was a DDR MAX 2_6th MIX OST, you can I was happy. even though I had a job, I was hella poor and couldn't qualify for credit cards *too young, but a debit card that I had so much trouble setting up with paypal, it took weeks! anyway, ebay is a shady bit*h, caution on every step of the way, but all in all, I gotta admit however.. they have some pretty good stuff on the site~

yeah I lost $800 from my bank account 3 times cause someone fradulently used my ebay account to make sale transactions. My bank had to shut down my account reverse the transactions with ebay (they couldn't get hold of any representative from ebay either) and startup a new account for me. Since then I have never used ebay.
