In the past I would use Syntrax Micellar Creame powder and take a scoop before bedtime to release protein at night and not wake me up hungry and be starving. Worked great. Here it is: http://www.amazon.com/Syntrax-Micell.../dp/B003X5PEIC

Well I just got this Syntrax Matrix 5.0 protein powder and I'm wondering if it can be used for the same overnight purpose before I go to bed? I thought it was the same exact thing as the Syntrax Micellar Creame product, but I might be wrong?? Here are the specs: http://www.amazon.com/Syntrax-Matrix...f=pd_sbs_hpc_2

I didn't click the link, but I know casein releases slowly at night for longer protein uptake. Whey digests quickly, so taking that at night right before bed doesn't seem to make sense. So, if product has casein then it would be a good before bed supplement. I drink milk before bed personally, b/c casein powder mixes horrible and I hate trying to choke down globs of the stuff.

In general for most it doesn't matter much.

However, a casein protein is better at night prior to bed, something like Cottage cheese works too.

If you add in a couple tbls of olive oil or other high quality fats it will slow down the digestion process.
