I bought a bunch of Gateway DX Desktopsthat came with Seagate 2TB ST20000DM001 HDDs. I've noticed they all made strange squeaking sounds once in a while. I figure maybe they are normal for this series. But I hard a much hard sqeel today and my 100GB VMware file gave me a fatal error after windows ran a scandisk at bootup.

Looking at SMART are as follows:

HDD 1 Raw Read Error Rate
HEX:0000000490-6150
DEC:1168
Seek Error Rate
HEX:0000000014-75E4
DEC: 20

HDD2 Raw Read Error Rate
HEX:0000000D51-2CE8
DEC:3409
Seek Error Rate
HEX:0000000009-F436
DEC:9

HDD3 Raw Read Error Rate
HEX:0000000482-6610
DEC: 1154
Seek Error Rate
HEX00000004B-D9BD
DEC:75

was the vmware a fluke or should i worry about the other drives too?

Noises like that aren't good. I would return those.
What does the rest of the SMART attributes show, does it say anything about the drive's health ?

As for the fatal error, that could be related, or it could be bad RAM. I would run memtest86+ on the system with the fatal error, just to check it out for piece of mind.

All the other SMART attributes are nominal, anyone deal with gateway support before? Will they do advance parts replacements?
