I have never heard this word being used as an epithet toward blacks.

In Vermont most people don't even know a single black person.
Its the whitest state in the Union.
And I don't mean snow.

Calling a feminazi a feminazi is like calling a spade a spade.

If a woman is a feminsit w/ facist views towards men, they are a feminazi. Just like if a muslim with facist views is called a islamofacist.

I have no doubt your response would have been identical to some of those you are calling out.

Please don't think you aren't a partisan, because your words on this forum show otherwise.

This remark from the same campaign that can't stop "accidentally & innocently" mentioning cocaine and Obama in the same sentance. The one that wondered aloud whether he was a "drug dealer" on national TV?

Why in the world would a Repub candidate even wanna mention his race? Just in case there's some blind redneck racists who didn't know he was black and who might otherwise "accidentally" vote for him?

The only reason to bring it up is if you're a Dem opponent and wanna make sure Dem primary voters are reminded of his race and potential unelectability in the general election (offers a "two-fer in that you get slander all non-Dems as racists too).

Odd timing for the HRC campaign to create a new euphamism for "experience". I've never heard her refer to it as "spadework" before. Nor is that a commonly employed term.

Spadework is a term I've heard many times before. This is a real stretch to say that it's some sort of racist implication. (or are we not allowed to use farming related terms when a black person is nearby?)

The drug stuff was a ham handed attempt, and a scummy one like that... I just don't see this one as meaning much. Joe Biden's comment (that by the way was all over the news for all you people who claim Democrats can get away with these comments) was far worse.

rush is just trying to make an issue out of nothing... he's just a dumb fatass who's got nothing better to do with his time, not that he isn't doing drugs anymore.

I think what this tells us is that everyone's looking for racist comments where they probably don't exist. The fact that we both thought one comment was innocent and the other racist likely means that neither one was particularly bad.

Isn't Rush an avowed racist? It takes one to interpret that kind of statement as racially derogatory. Maybe he's just seeing spooks.

Rush, yet another republican looking for umbrage, like a whiney kid. Spadework has an obvious and acceptable meaning. Now we need Clinton saying "it's not just black and white" and that drug addict will really have a go, eh?

Do you really think Hillary Clinton is a racist? Do you honestly think she purposefully chose those words because she wants to get the racist American vote? If anything, she would never have said it if she had known the bad connotation.

i thought they were giving up on that losing strategy

spade = derogatory term for blacks, popular circa like 100 years ago

She was saying he wasn't experienced, the OP/Rush are claiming her choice of words is questionable.

never heard of that term before, only spade reference I knew of is calling a spade a spade...

It does not mean what Rush Lamebass thinks it does. No, it shows his mind, and no one elses. Can't believe anyone anymore thinks Rush Lamebass has any credibility anymore.

According to Rush, Hillary was on the Today Show this morning with Matt Lauer, and it seems she had the following to say about Obama:

He hasn't done the spadework necessary to be president.

Now, I have to agree with him. If a Republican used this terminology, he would be grilled over the coals. We would have Sharpton and Jackson leading protest marches. But when Hillary says it? Nothing about it in the mainstream media.

Commentary from Rush Limbaugh.

Only a racist would connect "spadework" with a derogatory race remark. Do you giggle at the mention of the seventh planet too?

The only reason I'd listen to Rush is for a good laugh.

The guy is a blowhard hypocrite.
