Actually I will go with the crowd and say funny not found. Essentially you've got two old vets staring at the monument with names of people who fought and died alongside them and a Vietnamese guy making fun of them and calling it a score board. I'm trying to think how it would be with another context.

Let's bust out a Nazi comparison. If it was two old German vets looking at a monument and an American doing the same thing who would laugh at that? I actually think I still wouldn't laugh. Even if I would, though, this show is targeted at a mainly American audience so I have to conclude the joke was a detraction.

Next, Peter is going to visit Auschwitz. Two old Jews are staring at the ovens, and a German man.... /Godwin's Law

Tasteless and unfunny, but that's their prerogative. The show sucks anyway.

Pretty funny esp the oboma monument. As for the OP crying like a fucking baby about how far this show has gone, well, what would you rather give up your freedom of speech like the dudes fought for on the wall, or continue to give them away and vote your buddy Palin (bush wanna be) back in?????

Sad part the damn wall was built from SS tax money (slush fund). Oh well. Can't have your cake and eat it too I guess. Deal with it and move on.

Tho I'm not a fan of the far guy so... I guess this is coming from a independent view.

Hey asswipe... first off I am not whining and if I were.. tough shit for you I suppose. There are a lot of Vietnam veterans still alive and in my opinion this attempt at humour goes a little too far.

You are the one bringing the first amendment into this thing. Maybe I should reread my OP and see where I called for censorship. And WTF does Palin have to do with this?

You are a fucking partisan hack... and a terrible one at that. You and Dave should share a latte sometime. You both seem to have a lot in common.

Like you're gunna boycott FOX! Jihad, Rudder! Jihad! Is that another joke or extremist think-alike?

Shall I add you to the dipshit partisan hack group? Ericlp and Dmmcowen674 are in there. The question was simple... Do you feel the Family Guy went to far? I know that question may be a little difficult for you to comprehend... I will try to put it in simpler terms...

Do you (as in you the one reading this) feel (as in your emotions or what type of emotional response, if any, did the piece stir in you?) that (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/That) the television show, The Family Guy, (Cartoon show that airs on Fox which apparently has quite an adult following) might have come across (been viewed as being) overly insenstive (no regard for a large number of living vets whose fellow soldiers have died in Vietnam) in an attempt (try) at humour (funny)?

Note: the question mark at the end denotes a question. It does not ask an opinion for Fox news and Glen Beck, et al... Has nothing to so with Bush or Sarah Palin and does not call for censorship or any first amendment violations. I know this is an enormous task for a peanut brain... but really I would expect more of someone who at least can create an account on the anandtech forums.

I really like Family Guy, however, I didn't think it was funny.

Too far? I don't think so. I just didn't find that part funny.

Yeah but they always go to far. That's their appeal.

OP are you asking if the cartoon is Politically Correct?

Nothing to do with political correctness. Just seems a little over the top with memorial day coming up. I never understood the appeal of the show and have never watched it. I just saw this one segment and wondering who would find it funny.

I'd say it's about on par for Family Guy, better than the episode where Brian ate Stewie's shit out of his diaper. It's just shock-humor now, anything to get ratings.

Memorial Day is still 2 weeks away. How much time would you consider an adequate buffer? 1 month? 2? Would it be okay to air it exactly 6 months before Memorial Day so it is as far away as possible?

I'm going to guess that he thinks it's over the top regardless of how close it is to Memorial Day. Although I don't personally find it over the top, I can see how it could be perceived that way.

The funniest part about this is the people butthurt over it.

butthurt over making fun or making light of the deaths of thousands of dead americans?

here is one for you, how about if the two guys were at the world trade center memorial and a muslim said "LOL its a scoreboard" wouldnt you find that tasteless and offensive? cartoon or not making jokes about that shit is just wrong.

i don't think its their appeal. I think thats all he has to do anymore. Its not funny anymore. so he does what he can to get a "oh shit" response.

Well I think he did his job and got people to talk about it lol.

Was it tasteless? Sure, but this is family guy, and these types of things are expected. If you don't like it, don't watch.

how exactly you can compare the two baffles my mind.

because both are offensive? hypocrites claiming it's ok to bash muhammed, yet not ok to bash something americans claim as sacred?

wait wait, let's see what else is ok: laughing at dead arabs and muslims (including innocent ones) in american military videos.

next.

When you see Americans out in the streets rioting and killing people over this then get back to me with the Mohammed bullshit. Otherwise get a clue that expressing disapproval over a cartoon, boycotting a network that runs a cartoon, or writing articles about a cartoon are entirely different than issuing death threats and actually killing people over a cartoon.

hi hypocrite.

freedom of speech. learn it. funny how you think it's ok to bash something sacred to the muslim world, yet when it comes to america, it's completely off limits. hypocrite.

next.
