Yeah, but we aren't going to see that because their comments are harmless..vulgar, but harmless.
The same could be said of any hater who bashes blacks or gays... so I guess, like Dave, you'd be ok with a Presidential candidate hiring them to work on their staff?

I'm sorry but I have zero "tolerance" for fanatical hatred, of any type; and they certainly have no place in national politics.

Please tell me how their comments are like anything from the KKK?
The KKK spouts off hate-filled rhetoric against blacks, Mexicans, and Jews... Homophobes spout hate-filled rhetoric against gays... and the two bloggers in question spouted off hate-filled rhetoric against Christians.

Why do you seem to consider Christian-hating more tolerable than any other type of bigotry?

What in the Women's comments are like the KKK?
ok, for the shortbus folks:

Go read their statements and replace the words "Christian" and "Catholic" with n*gger or i love you.

Do you see the resemblance yet, or do I need to break out the crayons?

Heil Palehorse.

Good thing you aren't running for office.
LOL.. I never thought I'd see the day when someone on the Left defends bigots.

The irony is almost overwhelming!

Defending America unlike your kind bent on destroying it.

I guess you missed the sentence in the OP where I clearly stated that I'm not a Christian... In fact, I do not believe in any form of organized religion.

If I had to describe me own beliefs, I'd say that I'm actually a Deist, of sorts.

I simply refuse to "tolerate" fanatical hatred, of any type. I see no difference between these hate-filled women and their KKK equivalent. They are each cut from the same cloth.

"your kind"?!?

By defending the Christians, who are the targets of these women's hatred, I'm somehow "bent on destroying" America?!

smoke much?

If these women had attacked gays or blacks in the same manner, would we even be having this debate? You are essentially proving that fanatical Christian-bashing is somehow more acceptable than other forms of bigotry.

I already answered your question... several times.

There is no difference between their hatred of Christians and the KKK's hatred of minorities.

The only difference is the intended target of said hatred.

No. You have not. What in their comments are like the KKK?

What you keep doing is attempting to make a comparative argument without being able to prove your point....

What you are doing is making the same blanket statement as if it covers the issue...

You are the one note trumpet, bleating the same whiney tune....

dont be so quick to judge. And I would be careful about throwing the term "hypocrisy" around considering the group you side with.
What "group" do I "side with," and do you always stereotype those who disagree with you?

If the blogs were racist in nature I doubt the girls would have been anywhere near a presidential campaign to begin with.
That's the entire fvcking point!! why is it ok to hate Christians, but not blacks?!? Why does the Left promote "tolerance" of this obvious hatred?!

Bottom line: Why was it ok for Edwards to hire Christian-haters, but not members of the KKK?

try answering my questions OrByte, I dare you.

Btw, you made the "ASSertion" that keeping them around showed tolerance, and that's my entire point.

How is any form of fanatical hatred "tolerable"?

Christianity has spend the last 16 centuries keeping women in their"place", think of it as justifiable payback.

Heaven forbid we ever progress as a people. With ignorant attitudes like your we never will.

bigotry. Just because the target of their attacks was ok in your books does not change the fact that just like the KKK these women were bigots.

It matters not the words used, its the intent of them. In that they are like the KKK

one only needs to lay claim to a small amount of common sense to draw a parallel between the hate-filled bigotry present in those blogs and the hate filled language of the KKK.

wow, so now these bloggers are like the KKK?

what....did they go around in white robes and hang a bunch of catholics while I was out? Did these dumb girls go out and burn down some crosses on the church lawns or something?

you rightwingers need lessons in civil rights and tolerance. it is really sad that the last 6 years our nation has been governed by like minded fools such as yourselves.

PH, your arguments are all over the map, you need a baby wipe to clean up all of your mess. Talk about a lack of common sense. And your intolerance for people who have different ideals than yourself is really spooky. I hope you aren't in the military, we don't need your type upholding our civil liberties since it is obvious you don't have clue number one what that means.

The Christian Right and Bill O'Reilly fans lost in 2006, they will lose again in 2008, and keep losing for a long time. Why should Edwards care what these losers have to say?

Religion wasn't the issue in 2006. Thanks to Edwards, it just might be in 2008. oops!

ironic that left wing extremists here have no problem seeing the comparisons between holocaust deniers and "global warming deniers", yet can't seem to lose those lib blinders when comparing these fembigots with the KKK, both of whom posess an ideology of hatred/intolerance towards another group.

Wishful thinking, but keep engaging in it if it makes you feel better. 2008 election will be about Iraq, again, and GOP will lose big, again.
If you think that 2008 election will be about what some Edwards staffers bloged 2 years before, you are deeper in denial than an Egyptian diver.

1) Do you think Edwards can recover from this, or will it ruin his campaign?

2) What on earth possessed Edwards to hire such militant feminist filth? Are the lunatic-fringe far-left voters really THAT important for Democrats? Why? How many are there?

I personally dont think that there is any reasonable excuse to defend those bigots, and I cannot figure out WTF Edwards was thinking when he found out and decided to keep them around. I would have fired them on the spot... the fact that he didnt is kinda...odd. Perhaps if somebody answers my second question above, I'll understand his motivations a little better.... maybe.. unless Dave craps all over the thread instead.

What a few staffers write on the internet this far from the election is such a non issue this thread is pointless.

Go back to whining about Pelosi's PLANE GATE.

LOL, so says the Christian-hater!

"Please dont hate on the gays or blacks... that is just wrongful and inhumane... but, the Christians and Jews are fair game! So blast away!"

selective tolerance FTW?

If the candidate in question was a Republican, the folks in here would be stomping him into the ground using every adjective in the book to describe the bigotry.

And people wonder why the Left is known for their hypocrisy?!?
