The question that bothers me is,
How many actual "future" scientists have been lost because they weren't allowed to come out of the womb?
Once we became sufficiently civilized, the next step should have been figuring out how to prevent unwanted babies so no one would have to face the dilemma of whether or not to abort a fetus. Now, if despite ALL precautions and measures, conception still happens then we should consider it divine and the state should pay for the child's upbringing, in case the parent(s) abandon the baby.
The problem with that is, the world still isn't 100% civilized (may not be for maybe another 500 years?) so until then, humanity will keep murdering defenseless fetuses.
(Please don't kill me)
