My take. of course, is that normal people everywhere are all laughing at them because they are all like peas in a pod, they are all mentally ill in this way and all us normal people who can reason see the same thing. How sad can live be that a whole class of potentially decent people are totally crazy, hopelessly crazy because they can't help but act like children. Must be they try to shame people because they are themselves ashamed of facing how they are. And they take themselves so seriously, like fucking jokers trying to play the straight man. Facts don't change people's opinions unfortunately. In fact, the mental resources and rationalizations used for ego preservation only act to cement those flawed opinions when faced with the facts ---> polarization is always the result of debate. I don't think its unique to conservatives, its just a lot easier to recognize when they do it.

Examples of liberal double think

1.) Believing men and women are the same, but we need to pass laws to protect women. Case in point Barack Obama's first act in office during the greatest recession in 80 years.

2.) Blaming Bush for the housing boom, while posting a graph showing that when Bush took office it was already the biggest in history

3.) Blaming Reagan for the disconnect between GDP and wage growth and posting a link as proof that clearly stated this began in the 1970s

Besides the fact that conservatives have low cognitive ability, the bigger problem is that they have low meta cognitive ability to recognize their own stupidity and ignorance and can't adjust to new facts/information as a result.

There's really no other way idiots like George Bush, Rick Perry, Michelle Bachman, and Sarah Palin could be so adored by you guys.

That explains why consevatives simply don't like Mitt. From what i've read, he's a very data driven person, since his days at Bain. That sort of thinking is the realm of liberals. That is why he was for UHC before he was against it now. He also believed man caused global warming before he had to reject that idea now because of the crazies in his party.
