Dick Cheney poll

This is a silly story, and I think that (once again) the Daily Show managed to hit the nail right on the head. Their "report" on the situation suggested that the reason the media was jumping all over this is that during the last 5 years, there has been virtually NOTHING the press could use as a good story about the Bush administration, they are just too squeaky clean. The joke of course is that the media has had lots of opportunities to really push some huge stories about the Bush administration, and they have (to Bush's immense fortune) fumbled the ball again and again. That they have spent any time at all on this rather non-story story is just sad.

1) i don't like cheney, he reminds me oif the villians in james bond movies
2) i don't like the media, they come across as morons. (so your dying? and how does that make you feel?)

therefore i hope they somehow destroy each other.

How is it a non-story? It truly reveals the incompetence of this administration.

How so?

Shooting someone on a hunting trip is just outright foolish. Obviously Cheney wasn't following proper safety procedures.

And what does this have to do with governing? Nothing.

Maybe not. But the question is: how deep does the incompetence go?

My keyboard only has a few million keystrokes left before I have to spend $10 on another one so I feel like I'm wasting my money (re: my life) to answer this BUT...

Accident != Incompetence

You guys are missing the real story.
During his Fox infomercial, Cheney disclosed that he "has the power to declassify information". So-he seems to be saying- if he wants to out a particular CIA Agent whom he does not like, he has the power to blow her cover.
It's an outrageous statement. But now that he controls all aspect of the government, it will never be critically looked at. The prosecutor must not be happy about being deliberately strung along all these months though, having to uncover one layer of their deception at a time, only to finally reach the bottom, with Cheney there saying "go fvck yourself, America"

Bay Buchanan nailed the spin from the VP and the WH this morning on GMA. Her explanation for the delay of reporting the shooting of Huntington:

(paraphrasing)
The Vice President just wanted to take the time to gather the facts of the story.

Uh....he WAS the freakin' story you painted-up hussie!!

She then continued the spin (also spun by the Veep on the farce interview with Brit Hume) that the national press is just mad that they weren't notified first.

Secrecy leads to suspicion. That's why this became a big story. If Cheney had simply done the right thing and allowed the police/sheriff to investigate as was supposed to happen, this would have been a non-starter. Then again, if he'd been inebriated, the story would be even worse.

Well I doubt any Hanky Pank was going on as an erection probably would kill Cheney. In fact is somebody wanted to off Cheney all they'd have to do is dose his afternoon Scotch with some Viagra...something for Whittington to consider as payback for Cheney shooting him in the face.

Gather the facts? LOL, that's good. She just as well as said he didn't want to face the press until he knew what all was going to leak out.

Well, it's nice to know that the Secret Service was looking out for Cheney and protecting him from terrorists like the Deputy Sheriff or a (gasp) reporter.

I think we should get Jack Bauer to interview Cheney about what really happened. Maybe he could prod him for some answers about Valerie Plame as well.

That was a great skit! 🙂 However, im sure that much of the media fumbling or ignoring the big stories that would have revealed the criminals controlling the white house was due to supression from the white house. All in the name of terra and feer.
