If you had a lot of face-to-face contact with the public, I was going to suggest you get a TB skin test. It only takes a couple of minutes, its painless, and you were going to be at the doctors office anyway.

Are you getting enough sunlight? Lack of vitamin D can affect your immune system.

Probably his lack of a spleen :)

Sounds like my new year's. (Bad sushi.)

If it's only been a couple of days, you'll probably be fine. Drink lots of gatorade. Gas-X (anti-gas) and Midol (diuretic) can help the bloating, depending on what caused it in your case (gas or water retention).

Start slow on the solid food after 24 hours without the liquid shits. Plain rice, no meat, etc. Yogurt may help a little bit in terms of getting your intestinal bacteria sorted out. (Assuming you're not lactose intolerant.)

Definitely drink some Gatorade to replace the electrolytes lost from the diarrhea. Dehydration from diarrhea can be serious.

Gatorade's a good suggestion, or pedialyte or other sports drink. Also, Chicken broth or other clear soups (maybe avoid if it's loaded with sodium though). Dilute it with water if you want.

Some yogurt might not be a bad idea either if you can stomach it.

Go check a bottle of gatorade... Last I checked it was one of the saltiest drinks you can buy. I always thought "its high in potassium nbd" but it turns out to have something like 2x more sodium than potassium and way way more sodium than soda.

Yea I have some right now. Its 7% DV sodium and 1% DV potassium per serving. So 7x more sodium. You can blow your whole DV of sodium just on Gatorade if you drink it instead of water.

Sounds like when I had C Diff. NASTY. Very sore stomac feels like you have a 2x6 plank stuck in your stomac and there's nothing you can do to take it out. Can't eat a single thing or you throw it up. And as suggested Gatorade is a good idea as it might be one of the few things your body will retain so you can get nutrients that way.

But definitely see a doctor.

110 mg sodium per 8 oz. That's really not that high, especially for someone who's losing fluids. Also, you're confusing the DV% with amount. By weight it's 30mg potassium vs 110 mg sodium, so a little less than 4x.

For comparison, Swanson chicken broth is 860 mg sodium per 8 oz.

Could be diverticulitus. My mom had similar symptoms (particularly the pain) and that's what she had.

If its campylobacter, monitor how your feet feel for a couple of weeks after the diarrhea subsides. Its rare, but a capylobacter infection can lead to a Guillain Barre syndrome, and that is no fun (I know this first hand)

I should have known to average 2x and 7x and call it for the day. :)
