I know that we beat Diablo. I asked my friend who was part of the original group that I played with, and he doesn't remember what level we quit at.

Really though, if it can't win me over after a run through the entire game, it's probably not going to win me over with end-game questing.

The point of D2 wasn't beating Diablo, but playing with other ppl and.. dueling. Getting items to pwn ppl in dueling...

Blizzard ruined it. The original kept enough storyline and atmosphere to make a great blend between action and role playing. The sequel just turned it into an allout action game with skill points.

Totally. I missed doing cow runs. I would probably still be doing them if blizzard didnt do a hitler and decide to dictate how players should play.

Blizzard: With the release of patch 1.10 we decree that thou shalt not do thine repetitive cow runs over and over as thine cow hast been nerfed to give crap all exp. Thou shalt fine thine game less repetitive now.

We also decree that if thou wishes to make oneself a new character thou shalt play thine ENTIRE game again!!!! Thou shalt not rush!!! New character? Do it all over again! Thou may think thine declaration is in stark contrast to the previous one. Thou would be correct!

Anyways dunno why im moaning it was like 2-3 years ago that came out lol. 1.11 has come and gone too.

Things i missed about d2:

1. The economy, the poor stay poor and the rich get richer. You wanna not be poor anymore? Put the damn work in! Get a bot, get lucky, or find newbs that will sell their soj's for xxx gold! It was great before 1.10 came.

2. Killing newbs, join a low level game, party, find out where they are, go hostile and boom 🙂 fun times.

3. Cows!! Cow levels were so much fun as a necro. The low levels would stand by the portal and get exp just by being in the party. So what you do is bone wall all the low levels so theyre locked in. Bone walls to cows are like blood to pirhannas, they come rushing in attacking the walls, slowly smashing them to get to the helpless newbs trapped inside. Watch and take bets as to which one dies first hahaha. Ah fun 🙂

4. Trading, it would take ages and usually be a long drawn out thing to get your desired item, but when you did it was an accomplishment

5. Big dupes. Yeah yeah wrecked economy, was bad etc, blah blah blah be quiet lol. It was like xmas on diablo II, everythings free!! You can afford anything because it takes a day or two for people to stop accepting the duped currency, or duped items or both. Also made a nice change to soj's which got a tad boring

6. PvP amazons!! They got nerfed with 1.10 cause seeking arrow thing no longer stacked with somthing else, i dont remember. But it was fun sitting outside town, watching the little line of 4 or so people, working up the guts to run out and take a pop at you in vain hehe. Amazons kicked ass.

Ah, the Diablo 2 days. I made money selling my items on ebay.
If you're looking for a D2 fix, try Titan Quest. Its pretty similar in terms of gameplay.
