Nice to meet you, Col. Jessup. Going to order a Code Red on me?

Go back to your joystick and your Counterstrike Clan.

DHS is a fine example of a good idea done horribly wrong by insane ideologues in the administration with nothing on their minds but money and power and how to achieve more of each.

The Department of Homeland Security? Do they even get a gun & a badge? What kind of Squad Car do DHS guys ride around in & eat their donuts? They don't actually get a real gun that fires real bullets... do they? What do they yell when they molest... I'm sorry, arrest you?... "Freeze! Department of Homeland Security, Arlington, Virginia, section VII, Evildoers Apprehension Division! You're under molest... ARREST!"

That's just what we need; more civil servants with guns, staking-out the school bus parking lots, looking for tardy 10 year olds. JFC, what a waste.

Typical.

Your original post was nothing but a troll.

Or do you believe that 2/180,000 represents causation?

If so, I'd like to get your views on how the DNC supports the rapists and child molestors of the NEA (at much higher levels than 2/180,000).

it doesnt matter what we're supposed to derive... the simple fact is that whatever that is, if it doesnt fit your agenda, then you'd likely ignore it in favor of something that does.

I disagree. The DHS is a lame bureaucratic clusterfsck that bogs down the process of protecting America. And when was the last time a DHS agent was killed in the line of duty? Injured in the line of duty? And by the way, you earn respect in this country, you're not automatically given it when they hand you a badge and a 9.

the same agencies providing the protection as part of the DHS have been doing so for decades. Their having been absorbed by DHS does nothing to take away from all that they have given. The Secret Service and Coast Guard are two agencies in particular who have proven themselves effective and willing to make sacrifices for a century or more.

perhaps you're just ignorant of all of the services that they provide for this country; or perhaps you are making the conscious decision to sh*t on their service?

Maybe you're a pedophile, like your DHS heros. Maybe not. If you make insinuations other can as well. Don't do it.
Is everyone here aware that DHS is responsible for vetting Federal childcare workers? If that doesn't make alarm bells go nuts I don't know what will.
Anyway, it's not just the one agency that is crooked. It's the entire administration. It's a culture of corruption. Pedophiles running the day cares is par for the course for these animals.

With all due respect Alc, I seem to remember you frequently tossing out NAMBLA insinuations. Seems more than a bit hypocritical for you to berate others.

The thing that's not clear to me about this and other reported incidents is the identity of these "Homeland Security" cops. I would expect, for example, that U.S. Secret Service agents would continue to identify themselves as such, not as Homeland Security. If that's not the case, if these are S.S. agents or represent another well-established and well-respected branch of DHS, I agree one should be slow to tar the whole organization for the actions of a few. Even the best law enforcement organizations are staffed with fallible human beings (which, as I've pointed out before, is exactly why we must never compromise an effective system of checks and balances).

If, on the other hand, these "DHS" cops are in some new branch, I think it is wholly reasonable to criticize that branch for its officers' behavior until it has demonstrated its professionalism and earned our respect. If it is a new branch, I question whether they're setting the bar high enough on their recruiting and training standards. Based on the public exposure so far, they appear to be a bunch of wanna-be mall cops. One of the measures of this (hypothetical) branch's commitment to professionalism will be how swiftly and openly they deal with their bad apples.

does it surprise you that the media left out little details like, you know, the actual department within DHS that these "officers" work for? oh wait, that's not odd at all, is it? It's par for the course! Doing so would have limited the dramatic impact of the news; and it would not have furthered their anti-administration agenda. gee, big surprise.

Or perhaps they merely identified themselves as DHS "officers" without providing more information. You're letting your knee-jerk hatred of the media lead you to baseless assumptions. Can you show that all officers under DHS are affiliated with one of the original agencies like S.S., that there are no new "officers" working solely under a "DHS" banner? If not, it's fair to ask "do you have anything intelligent to contribute?"

there are a few new departments within main-body DHS that inolve federal agents. The fact is that the details necessary to determine exactly which sub-department of DHS was involved are irrelevant. why? because no matter which department it is, the criminality or actions of a few are not representative of the DHS as a whole. THAT is the entire point.

The quote above by you, does not delineate the paper pushers vs the grunts on the line

I agree that it is a bureacratic mess - however to generate the implication that is a tar & feather of everyone that has to work under that umbrella is doing an injustice.

Anytime the government makes another agency, the bighsots will have a swell head because they feel that they are needed. When it is done in an emergency; the egos get even bigger.

Many of the agencies that were swept into the DHS are proud to do their job; blanket attacks against their parent agency seem as a condemnation of them and it is unfair.

If one wants to attack the agencies heads and their underlings of the parent agencies do so; but keep it clear that the others on the line are not being associated with the misdeeds of the appointed idiots.

That remains to be seen. Don't you EXPECT complete professionalism from people with this sort of power? If you don't you shouldn't be surprised when any of them behave this way, and you shouldn't whine when it happens to you.
