That part sounds like an issue within DHL. Multiple stops at the same location can't be good. Costs a lot of $$.

I agree, DHL sucks. I got a case and hard drives delivered thru them, the case arrived looking like it had been used as a football (dents on 3 sides including a huge one on top that was too severe for the top piece to slide off), there were several holes in the box, I sure as hell don't trust the drives that arrived inside that case poorly packed. I never actually signed for it even though it says signature required on the box. When the guy showed up and gave me the box with the case (which was a standard box made for it), and immediately ran back outside, I assumed he was going to go get another package with the drives -- no such luck.

It is now more than 2 months later and I'm still going through the damage claim process. Five different DHL customer service people gave me 5 different incorrect fax numbers for where to send the claim initially. Other instructions and information from them turned out to be wrong as well. Ended up having to snail-mail it. Some of them were downright nasty and aggressive on the phone. Had to take a half day off work for their inspector to come look at it and confirm it was damaged, and they still required either a repair invoice or a certified repair technician's report stating it can't be repaired afterwards.

WTF is the point of insurance again? I would wager the red tape they put in to prevent paying any claims costs them more than it would to just pay the claims.

I had many things delivered intact when they were Airborne Express, my first and only dealing with them after the changeover to DHL has been a total disaster.

So because you haven't had a bad experience with DHL, I must automatically be at fault? That sounds like a really good arguement there... hahaha.

It sounds like there are some other people who have had equally bad experiences with DHL, so I am obviously not the only one. I'd venture to guess that there are probably some good or average DHL local offices while others are bad.

Since I've never had any problems with FedEx/UPS, I guess I'll be sticking with them.

BTW- Insane3D - I don't live in an apartment either, I live in a pretty easy to get to development, right off of a main road. Its not a highway, but it is a pretty well traveled road.

SSP - I'm still messing with all the setting on the camera at this point. Strangely enough, the picture quality of the 20D leaves something to be desired compared to the 300D. The problem I think is that the 20D is more of a professional camera and has a lot more settings to play with ... and the defaults are not necessarily the best settings. I'm sure after messing with it for a few more days it'll be taking shots that are at least as good as the 300D. Major advantage though is the autofocus is noticeably faster than the 300D (which I didn't even realize was "slow"). The 20D is also VERY fast at taking pictures ... 5fps and with my Lexar 80X 1GB CF, I'm able to take about 50 pictures before the camera starts slowing down ... Dunno if it was all at 5fps, it might have slowed down to 3fps at some point, but its still remarkably fast. Definitely a nice upgrade, although if I still had my Rebel I wouldn't have been spending the cash to upgrade so soon.

from the one dealing I have had with them they are not that great.... my street is right off of a highway, posted on the EXIT! Yet, I was told I had a bad address....I have lived here for over 2 years and have NEVER had a problem with FEDEX or UPS delivering. The package got returned to Grove City Ohio, now I am gonna have to wait a whole nother week for DHL to deliver a two-day delivery to my work address. Funny thing is the station that does the delivering is only 15 min from my house so the people that deliver LIVE in this area...

They did the same thing to me, attempted to deliever a package twice! I called and the CS rep said the truck had broken down - twice! Yeah, right.

My second time dealing with them occurred when they sent me an invoice for a package I didn't order, didn't receive, from a company I've never dealt with. I called up, told the CS rep my situation and she said, "OK, don't worry about it. Destroy the invoice."

How do you run a company like that?
