I agree, DHL sucks. I got a case and hard drives delivered thru them, the case arrived looking like it had been used as a football (dents on 3 sides including a huge one on top that was too severe for the top piece to slide off), there were several holes in the box, I sure as hell don't trust the drives that arrived inside that case poorly packed. I never actually signed for it even though it says signature required on the box. When the guy showed up and gave me the box with the case (which was a standard box made for it), and immediately ran back outside, I assumed he was going to go get another package with the drives -- no such luck.
It is now more than 2 months later and I'm still going through the damage claim process. Five different DHL customer service people gave me 5 different incorrect fax numbers for where to send the claim initially. Other instructions and information from them turned out to be wrong as well. Ended up having to snail-mail it. Some of them were downright nasty and aggressive on the phone. Had to take a half day off work for their inspector to come look at it and confirm it was damaged, and they still required either a repair invoice or a certified repair technician's report stating it can't be repaired afterwards.
WTF is the point of insurance again? I would wager the red tape they put in to prevent paying any claims costs them more than it would to just pay the claims.
I had many things delivered intact when they were Airborne Express, my first and only dealing with them after the changeover to DHL has been a total disaster.
