Dexter -- Season 6

For me, this was the worst season by far. As abaez said, you really had to suspend your disbelief as there were so many plot holes and liberties taken.

It's a TV show. About a serial killer that works in a police station. If you have an expectation of 100% accuracy and believability you are watching the wrong show. The show has been this way from the beginning, not sure why someone would expect it to change. Or why someone would continue to watch it, through 6 seasons, complaining that it's not believable or accurate.

Season 3 and 5 were easily worse than this season. Hanks' character was great and well acted. The "plot holes" are because it is the start of a 3 season arc, since the show has already been renewed for two more years.

hah wow had no clue that was REALLY tom hanks son until the guy above called him hanks and I checked IMDB. i thought he just looked like a young tom hanks and that is why people said that lol.

I need to watch the last episode so I'm not going to read the thread.

I saw some weird stuff though, it made the whole thing more interesting.
I find it less dramatic than previous seasons though. In this season, Dexter is not risking anything, unlike the previous ones where he had police breathing on his neck and stuff.

I've never really seen it this way.

I agree he is far less meticulous, but I don't see it as breaking character, but more of a transformation. Since season 1 he's had increasingly growing responsibilities, and because of that has become less obsessed with his craft, even though he's still obsessed with the kill.

They play with that very subject a lot with his Dad (in his head) wondering if he can balance it all. I think the progression actually makes sense.

I agree. Season 1 he was a ruthless, cold, and calculating killer. He put his security above everything.

Then he realizes he needs to "blend" into society more and become more human. He ends up marrying Rita to help acomplish this. Then Trinity comes into the picture and rips that "human" part of him away, and because he retained some of the humanity he has those emotions like revenge and isn't quite as cold and calculating as he was at first. He now concerns himself most with Harrison and wanting to make sure he isn't a serial killer himself one day, and being a father. This has forced him to make mistakes in his kills. It's actually setting up nicely for a really well written and reasonable series finale however that shapes up. But he has developed as a character and has grown into a different person than he was S1. He isn't a static character which I like.

He just looks creepy now...
