This is why I never watched previews for any show. So please don't tell us 🙂

Me neither. If I'm planning to watch the show regardless, I don't want to know one bit more about what will occur than I learn from the preceding episodes. It's bad enough on shows where the episodes are fairly self-contained (most of the Sopranos was like this, although there were long arcs that occurred in the midst of a self-contained episode), but a show like Dexter is really pieces of a whole and knowing what comes next just takes away from the experience.

The...other way I used to watch Dexter...never used to include the previews. But the lady likes to watch them...

I believe "the other way" always included the credits, but the preview wasn't shown during the credits. They've been doing that a lot now though.

I'm very excited about the last episode, but my excitement is dampened knowing that there are 2 more seasons.

Possible Spoiler:

Do you think Gellar is in Travis' head?

If there is a manhunt for him why can he just walkout in public so easily? The old TA claims she hasn't heard from him in years. The Doomsday Bible was in Travis' apartment. When he visited his sister she claims that Travis is a good painter, yet we've never seen him paint. We have seen Gellar paint several times though. The scene with Gellar being the peeping tom makes more since with this. I'm sure if I keep thinking I probably could come up with more.

wow you're good.

I cannot wait for this show to finish this weekend. Dexter has been holding me hostage every sunday evening glued in front of the TV.

Unfuckingbelievable.

2 seasons of Deb being a helper?

I was curious as well.

Now I'll get to see how she reacts when she finds out (as I still take some issues with her letting him and lumen go previously) he kills people. Oh and is Matsuka's assistant going to be next seasons main serial killer?

I had no idea today was the season finale. Damn the wait is going to be horrible. Really nice twist.

I thought she might find out - but only because I read the Wikipedia pages and in the books she finds out he's a killer. Gonna be a long wait until next season... maybe I'll read the books...

Books are completely different from the series after the first season apparently.

ouch this is like the worst possible cliff hanger they could have had damnit! now we have to wait like 9 months or whatever to see wtf deb's reaction is.

great season though.

With a season colored with so many religious and existential questions I though it fitting that the final line of the season was "Oh God" - Dexter

yea i thought that was a great last line as well. infact, i thought the whole dialog between travis and dexter was a very well scripted conversation. i liked the entire 5 or so minute conversation they had while travis was on his death bed. really well done.

Yeah - which is kinda cool because it'll be like having new seasons to read instead of just a variation of what I've already seen.

I'm sure some of the twists in the turns in the book will eventually make it into the show in some form (like the Deb thing)... I read that in the books Masuka is much closer to Dexter, who think he is also faking a lot of his "human interactions". I wonder if the new lab intern (Louis, right?) is going to fill role since Masuka has already been established as pretty harmless... it would be a tough sell for me to believe that there is anything dark going with him.

Has anyone on here read any of the books?

can we please not turn this thread into a book vs tv series discuss like the walking dead one? that kind of ruined that thread and people kept posting "book spoilers" which no one had any clue if they would be tv show spoilers or not, for episodes that hadn't aired yet.

totally saw that coming. i was surprised it took so long. i thought deb was going to find out whenever she cornered dexter and julia styles killing sickboy from 'trainspotting' in that camp basement.

i had a huge feeling deb was gonna put the pieces together in the finale, but i didn't expect her to walk in on a killing. i thought maybe she saw the painting of dexter's face on the wall before dexter bashed it in with a hammer... and then she'd notice the coincidence of whenever dexter was out at sea and the lake of fire pictures.

either way, i'm glad she knows. i'm fairly positive she's going to become an accomplice and they'll be a team... i always had a feeling that's how it would end up. i'm still sticking to what i said in an earlier post about the intern being next season's serial killer and how he'll mess with the investigation from the inside and toy with miami homicide.

the fake self-injection was kind of cheap I thought..or was it a fake needle? Felt like that was slapped together at the last minute (writers)

yeah, that one left me scratching my head, too... i was like, "wait, what?"

They way it looked to me and I don't know the science behind it but, it seemed he but the needle through the throat into the throat cavity injectin liquid down his throat rather than into his blood stream. Again this was the conclusion i came to and I'm NOT sure on the scientific feasibility.

It could just be a saline solution or other inert liquid that would be totally cool to inject yourself with. You're ok with everything else, but *that* is what people are questioning? 😛
