ok good that is what i was hoping too, but from some responses i wasn't sure.

I thought so too but Deb says "the ice trunk killer is back and he killed two people, left [the son?] behind." They did a whole 30 second montage. Is Dexter now imagining things his sister says too?

I couldn't believe he was back so I went back to the last episode of Season 1 to watch him kill him. We have to assume he's dead. So what's the explanation?

Edit: Oh wow I just read some of the last posts and I made a mistake. I guess they were saying Trinity is back, not the ice truck killer. OOPS!

good stuff

was getting annoyed with Brian, glad to see Dexter resisted, would have messed things up if he gave in

I think that theory is out the window.
Unless that picture is part of his imagination as well.

The pic may be real...doesn't mean the professor is. He could have been a student of his...then killed him and kept him alive in his mind (or someone else could have killed him).

I thought the episode didn't live up to the preview they showed last week. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but was expecting more out of it. Feels like it fell short/was a let down.

That episode was interesting to watch, but afterwards I kind of felt like "okay, so what."
Yeah, so Brian was back and Dexter did some weird shit because of that, and the Trinity thing happened and was interesting,
but it doesn't seem like any of that is going to affect the rest of the season.

This is pretty much how I feel. Very lackluster episode I thought.

yeah, that's what i'm thinking, too. i think they're trying to throw us off with the whole
"there were two voices, an old man and a young guy" thing... i'm thinking it's a smeagle/gollum thing
.

That's a possibility. I am not sure what to think on Gellar. I always thought it was a clue how he never physically touched anything that was significant. Brian kind of threw that theory out the window when he was touching all kinds of stuff last night. Alot more than Harry has ever done.

I wanna know what's with these quick subplots. The hot blond intern, dexter and his roadtrip in the last episode. WTF?

I agree. Usually they have "monster of the week" episodes from time to time, but some of these subplots seem pointless as of now. It didn't seem like the major story arc progressed at all last night.

Which is pretty odd for a "Dexter" episode. Maybe it was all about Dex exploring the chance of being like Brian, killing with no code. But ultimately he
found he couldn't be like that when he couldn't kill Jonah, then stopped to pick up Harry again when returning to Miami as if to see "the light" of Harry's way/the code

Seems like a roundabout way to get there and kind of a throw away episode though. I think they could have been a little more creative and elaborate with Jonah and that whole storyline.

The blonde intern was useless. The subplot in the most recent episode had a little chance in that they could tie the trinity thing to Dexter's son, but they really didn't pursue that too much, at least so far. I wasn't a fan of the whole Brian thing, just so random with him showing up, causing Dexter to do a few out-of-character things, and then disappearing. Seems silly.

Soooooo

Does anyone else think the convo Deb had with the therapist may have happened IRL when Carpenter and Hall were married? Seems like the scenes with them are getting more and more confrontational

😛

I think this whole Deb drama storyline is kind of interesting, I hope something big happens in her relationship with Dexter.

By the way,
totally not surprised about the intern. I had a feeling it was he who bought the hand when Matsuka asked him to backtrace the auction winner and he couldn't... That and he had way too big a boner for Dexter. I think he is the next big serial killer. I bet none of his ID is real and he will be the biggest pain in the cops asses because he is more tech savvy.

I'm probably wrong, though.

His apartment was very sk worthy, even w/o the ebay acquisition.
