That's an interesting point.
You wanna know why Charter schools work so great right now? As a parent of 2 kids that went to (literally) the highest performing gradeschool in WI, I noticed that every kid in that school had parents (and teachers!) that were active and participating in their kid's education. The school was better because you had parents that actively sought out an alternative for their kid and then were involved in the school all day, every day in countless capacities. You had teachers that sought out something different and wanted to blaze a trail and make something special. There is NO question that is why their Charter Schools, and Charter Schools in general end up looking better.
In WI public schools have consistently been defunded under Walker for years. And people cry over and over that our public school system sucks. Gee, I wonder why. Now Walker is assigning 100s of millions back into schools (after ripping a billion+ out) and applying it to mostly rural school systems (shocker!) meanwhile the urban schools continue to decay beyond repair (literally and figuratively). And the right is praising him for funding schools now. So he took $100 from schools, gave $50 back and the GOP is praising him.

This is an exception and not the rule though. If there were tons and tons of charter schools and they become the norm, do you think there would be as much family participation? Of course not. And the results would reflect that.
