Deus Ex: Human Revolution is Amazing.

I am blown away by this game. I am playing on the hardest difficulty which I believe is Deus Ex mode and even though I have to save early and save often ( and still die) it never is frustrating. It makes me think and plan out every single move.

I would easily put this into the top 20 games I have ever played. Again this is just my opinion. I am playing the game fully stealth and without kills, not putting the first boss into the mix as I don't think you can continue without killing him. I explore every room I find, hack every single terminal, computer, Sensor pad I find and its so much fun.

I am curious to hear your thoughts.

Except for the jarring boss battles, it was a terrific game imho. I've played lots of run and gun FPS's so the boss battles were "okay" by me, but I know some people who hate the game due to the boss battles which run against the grain of the rest of the game, especially if your build is not a combat monster build.

Yeah I hear ya. The first boss was a pain the in the butt to put it lightly. I used a combination of Gas + exploding barrel to beat him. I am pure stealth so not a single combat Augment.

On a comical side note, I just turned on highlighting and just realized that desk drawers could be opened lol. Oh well.

It was a terrific sequel and far better than I expected. Although the original is still the gold standard.

I enjoyed it a lot too. I loved the original Deus Ex, and even managed to squeeze some enjoyment out of Invisible War, though it was pretty bad.

Human Revolution was far more faithful to the original than I dared to hope. Not perfect by a long shot, but quite good.

At some point I'll have to play through it again. I hope this bodes well for Thief 4.

I thought that was a challenge until I saw this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdHjLjGqhBg&list=PL7005C7365CCE4E99&index=1

Someday, many moons from now, I might try that:awe:

Nevermind I just stun gunned her to death with lots of shotgun to the face and moving around quickly.

Great game.

FWIW, I recommend the ENB mod for it...which pretty much just gets rid of that ugly yellow hue covering everything.

Makes the game a lot more colorful and visually enjoying. No performance hit, btw.

Fun game. i played a Sniper/Stun gun/take down combo. much fun, very stealth.
gonna play Dishonored soon, i understand there's also stealth involved.

DE:HR was a pretty good game. I've read a lot of comments that say it's better played from a stealth mode perspective. I think I would agree. I played it from a kill 'em all perspective and the game got a bit repetitive after a while.

I played it on the Xbox a while back. Actually did it twice, once on easy then again on hard.

On both I went stealth without killing, since you get more XP. Also I knew where alot of the hidden praxis were from easy and got those. On hard by the first boss battle I had the Aug, can't remember the name but when used it would shoot ball bearings all around you, to use only on the bosses. Before a boss battle I'd eat the bars to get all my batteries full, then use it as my main damage source to kill him. IIRC I used it for all the boss battles except the end game one.

One of these days, I will get around to starting it. I've had it on steam for at least a year now...

It was a fun game.

Depending on how you like to play, even on hard it's possible to go through the whole game without killing anyone except the bosses as they were mandatory kills. Silent non-lethal takedowns give the most XP. In most areas I'd spend quite a bit of time trying to take everyone down without causing an alarm before moving on for max XP, but some areas I did give up on and just sneaked out. IIRC hacking gives XP also as I remember clearing an area then hacking everything around that I could even though a lot had nothing of importance or would only have helped take out the guards.

With trying to max XP (every so many levels gives you a praxis) and tracking down hidden praxis by end game you can have most of the augs maxed out.

It's a good game and pretty faithful to the original. The grungy cyberpunk high tech setting was really well captured. I mostly enjoyed it but didn't like where the plot goes in the end.

I *loved* Dishonored. Fantastic game. Much blink. Very "it steals dice." (you'll see...😉 )

Dishonored is excellent all the way around, but especially if you like stealth. I'm finishing up the last of the DLC right now.

The major DLC's, The Knife of Dunwall and the Brigmore Witches, add a significant amount of playing time and extend the story. Both highly recommended.

Oh, and Human Revolution is great as well.

Dishonored is actually my PC campaign right now, and Deus Ex (the entire series, which I got for about $7.75 during the Holiday Sale) is in my future.

There's definitely a LOT of stealth you can do in Dishonored, but it's 100% option. In a fashion similar to OP's Deus Ex: Human Revolution experience, I have been trying to make my play style very stealthy in Dishonored. There is an Achievement for finishing the game without killing ANYONE, but I didn't find that out until after I killed 4 people in the first level (and I didn't want to go back).

But I'm going the route of knocking out every NPC I can, so I haven't deliberately killed anyone since. Of course, that ignores the times my stealth moves fail, I slaughter everyone, then re-load my save...

I've heard the same things about Dark Souls, so you may want to look into that after you finish Deus Ex.
