PS: Bettman called nothing. Both Penalties were legitimate calls.
So, you're saying the guy DIDN'T chip in the puck before he got checked?

Interference when it is shoulder to shoulder, short handed, is never called during the regular season. Now it is the playoffs, Stanley Cup Finals, and last 10 minutes of a game......NEVER, NEVER, NEVER.

I'm not sure it was chipped, but even then that's still Interference. You can't impede a Player going in to a dumped puck.

I dunno. The Wings have perfected Interference. This Loss was all the Pens fault though, lack of willingness to do what needs to be done.

Thing is though, he is the only coach doing it and well it's playoff hockey ton's of shit ain't gonna get called. It's as if he never played hockey or coached a team before the way he is acting. Lastly, the man acts like he's being cheated out of the game when yet their are calls that aren't being made on his team either, it's a double-edged sword.

Doesn't matter. It is common during the Playoffs to have a coach sending tape or threateninng to. Makes them a nuisance, but if what's on the tape is legit, then action is taken accordingly.

I felt like Lilja's penalty on Crosby had to be called. It sucked that the Wings were already shorthanded, but you can't let that happen. Crosby had dumped the puck and Lilja totally interfered. That is the crux of the rule.

I was more upset about the Maltby hooking penalty just prior to the Lilja call. That was more of a BS call considering the plays that the refs were letting go.

Therrien looked shell-shocked in his press conference after the game. He has cried and cried about interference this entire series. He got EXACTLY what he wanted in this game and his team couldn't convert on the chances that they got.

I don't know, it is all about the amount of time that lapses between when you chip the puck and the time you are hit. The old saw is 2 seconds and it's allowed. I didn't think even one second had lapsed when Lilja hit him. I'm going to have to rewatch it.

Oh well, water under the bridge. Go Wings.

sucks.

GJ Wings. another Cup for Ozzie & McCarty, and a Cup for all the newer Wings.

the cockiness of Wings fans last night at a stag & doe party I went to was unbearable.

I can't imagine it growing, but it'll have to with another Cup win. with the squad they have, they're going to be a threat to win it for a few years now.

I don't see why Wings fans should be so cocky after being bounced out of the playoffs so many times in recent years.

It has been six years since we've even been in the finals.

Babcock has confirmed that Holmstrom will be playing tomorrow. That means McCarty goes back to being a healthy scratch.

Here's to hoping Lilja is scratched and Chelios is back in.

He was asked about Chelios and said that it isn't likely that there are any other lineup changes. Cheli is too slow. He knows it. He would be a lot more vocal if he felt that he should be in the lineup. Im fairly certain he will retire after this season.

Pens are starting to piss me off, they looked good in the prior two series vs. the flyers and rangers. This series they don't even look remotely close to what they looked in the prior two series. I would give the wings credit but I think the credit should go to the pens for totally choking. I think the pens are beating themselves.

Oh well, atleast they only got three games left. 😛

go pens.

They don't look remotely close because the Red Wings are a MUCH better defensive team than anyone the Pens had played to this point. Crosby's line and the Pens power play have been dealing with two of the three Selke finalists as well as what may soon be a six-time Norris trophy winner.

Along with what should be, but won't be the Vezina Trophy winner.

Best GAA this year, in the top ten in total wins over a career, and has his name on the cup three times.

career stats don't factor into consideration for the Vezina, and rightly so. Ozzie had a good year but his GAA is more reflective of the defensive core and system in Detroit IMO.

Go Pens. just win a game in Detroit.

And, that opinion is also the opinion of the vast majority of hockey people. The thing is although, he doesn't face as many shots as most do, the quality of shots is very high because Detroit's D steps up into the offensive play so much he is put into the position of often making saves when it's one on the goalie. The wings rely so much on their forwards making up for the D's chance taking.

Ozzy is still one of my favorites. Nothing rattles him.

It'll be interesting to see just just how fragile the mindset of the Pens really is. Reminds me a little of the '95 Wings that stepped into the buzz-saw that was the '95 New Jersey team.

hmm. i see Ozzie make two or three great saves per game, the rest are just outside shots and garbage from the crease.

no matter what, it's not like we won't hear "Ozzie" chants tonight, even if he's made a whopping 6 saves per period.

therein lies the utter cluelessness of SOME Wing fans. SOME. 😉

they should really be chanting "SELKE!! SELKE!!" because no other team's forwards haul ass back to break up plays like they do 😛

they are truly a "whatever it takes" team. gotta admire that.

but seriously Pittsburgh, prolong the frickin' series plz.

I have to agree. I think that Osgood is a better goalie than he gets credit for, but he is not on the same level of Broduer, Nabokov, Luongo, etcs of the world. He is definitely a product of his environment, but you have to give him credit for completely revamping his style during the lockout. He has been a much better all-around goalie since he did.

That being said, he had made all of the important saves in the playoffs. He has not let goals get him down. In Game 4, a goalie of lesser intestinal fortitude could have caved after giving up the first goal 3 minutes in on the road, in a hostile environment, with a team on the other side of the ice fighting for their playoff lives.

And I am SO GLAD to see someone talk about our Selke finalists. Datsyuk and Zetterberg have shown through the playoffs (and this series in particular) why they are considered two of the best two-way players in the world.

"It's too late to fight..

It ends tonight.

It ends tonight."

LETS GO RED WINGS!

As much as I hate to see the season end, I think the Wings will take it tonight. Sorry Crosby and Malkin, maybe next year. 🙂

I think chances are if you got on a elevator with Datsyuk you'd look over and he'd have your wallet, cellphone, and the keys to your car by the time you got off on your floor.

Here you want the puck, ok here,.....you want it back? Oops, sorry, did I just take that again?

LMFAO

Based on his recent play, he might just KO you 😎

As much as I want the Pens to win it all, they just look so sloppy compared to the Wings... Every play the Wings have appear to be well thought out and choreographed, while the Pens just seem reactionary. I'm not getting my hopes up 🙁

I blame the entire thing on Malkin. Not only has he done jack shit since the first game of the philly series, but he turns the puck over like it's his job, and fans on just about any pass that comes his way for a one timer. Without the production of malkin, we pretty much lost half our 5 on 5 scoring, and most of out power play production. His stupid play has directly lead to several goals (as evidenced by his terrible +- rating in the last 7 games or so)

I'm still waiting for them to announce that he's been injured or sick the entire time.

Oh well, good series wings, you owned us pretty badly.
