well i said if you were starting a new team.
the all star game is not a showcase of best team. it is called the all "STAR" team. stars tend to be individuals. i didnt even say that the pistons were not the best team. they are just being hyped up as this great team and it is even probable that they lose to the spurs again. no one is hyping up the spurs right now, and definitely not the mavs. that is why the pistons are OVERRATED.
i also didn't say i'd definitely take gil , redd or howard over ben wallace as he is probably actually an allstar. but rip and rasheed are probably the 2 you dont build a team around and are never really game changers.
you guys are actually saying if you had an expansion team, and the only persons available were dwight howard or rasheed wallace you'd take rasheed? or if the only 2 players available were rip hamilton or gilbert arenas you'd take rip?
are you in crack?
a MAJORITY of the coaches in the east are saying it. i guess they're on crack. hans007 is the only logical one here, guys. he's got so much more credibility than NBA coaches who DID choose Rasheed over Dwight and Rip over Arenas.

that doesnt mean anything...the nba is so messed up in certain things. the allstars should be based just on stats...what the fvck does it have to do with how the team is doing. It is an individual accomplisment.

I think the Pistons are definitely the elite team in the league this year and I'm a Lakers fan.
That being said, Pistons fans are punks.

You are just angry over how the Pistons pretty much swept you guys in 04 save a lucky shot from Kobe at the end of I believe game 3.

Someone said earlier that Rip Hamilton shouldn't be an all-star, that he's an overrated player - that person should not be allowed to watch another NBA game, or post about the NBA on this forum. He's the best jump shooter in the league, probably the best conditioned athlete in the NBA, and a tough defender as well.

it will be hillarious watching all the sports casters who love them die when say dallas beats them.
Yeah right, whatever. The Mavs are not even getting past the Spurs or Suns to even get a chance at the Pistons. Dream on there bud.

Yeah, because the Spurs own the Mavs... Oh wait.
103-84 Mavs
92-90 Spurs
So it's gotta be the Suns... Oh wait.
111-108 Mavs
102-96 Mavs
Detroit the "only other elite team" for comparison.
94-88 (preseason) Mavs

hans007 do some research before you make claims, mmkay?
here are the records through 45 games:
pistons played: 22 east, 23 west teams (39-6)
san antonio: 22 east, 23 west (35-10)
dallas: 17 east, 28 west (35-10)
the pistons have played MORE WEST COAST teams than eastern teams. nice try though. overrated, lol:
3 straight eastern conference finals
2 straight nba finals
1 nba championship (almost back to back....i know almost doesn't cut it, but they were damn close to doing something not many have done in nba history)
and this season, they've flirted with the best record in nba history
how's that overrated?

no, no. he'll undoubtedly bring into argument the palace brawl and make sweeping generalizations about pistons fans, detroit citizens, and michigan people.

i agree about your comments about the all star game. arenas not making the team is just pathetic, especially when pieces of garbage like yao ming get the start.

lol@the preseason games. Detroit's bench almost played the entire game vs. the Mav's starters in those game. but like i said above, the mavs are a solid team, imo.

You really think either the Mavs or Suns have a chance against the Spurs in a best of 7? Dream on. Neither Dallas or Phoenix has the defense to win championships like the Spurs or Pistons.

that's not ideal either. if it were just down to stats, it'd basically be a fantasy basketball team.
for anyone who knows about fantasy basketball, the All-Star starters would be: Andre Kirilenko, Shawn Marion, and Brad Miller.
