Destroy CD

I usually just take a sharp object, like a pushpin or an exacto knife, and make some nice crosshatch designs on the foil...

4 seconds in a microwave will take can of about every peice of electronics known to man. Thus, put your CD in the microwave for 4 seconds and its completely destroyed.

yep, microwave pretty much. Just tried for first time (3 sec.). certified unreadable now. I wouldn't want to do more than like one or two that way though.

I can personally attest to the fact that using a CD as a baseball will shatter it in to a million pieces (the bat does wonders 😉) but that if you do it in the hall of your dormitory it will piss off your RA immensely.

lol

Dangit, I should've been more of a hellraiser when I was in the dorms.

All you have to do is take it outside.
Drop disk on ground.
Step on disk.
Twist ankle side to side until the shiny stuff all flakes off.

Here's my personal experience:

I have used the following 3 methods to destroy unwanted CDs (read: AOL CDs 😀):
1) Break it in half...
2) Take flathead screwdriver, scrape off all the foil on the top...
3) Using aZn martial arts skills, throw the disc at such a high velocity against a brick wall that it shatters into a dozen pieces (my personal favorite, out of 3 attempts I was only able to do it once...)

I suppose the best method would be to microwave for 3-4 seconds with a cup of water in the microwave, then scrape the foil off from the top with a flathead screwdriver... but that's unneccessary for stuff like AOL CDs, they're much more fun just to throw 🙂

In case anybody missed it, you have to scrape from the TOP of the CD because that's where the foil is. The bottom is just clear plastic.

Can your firepit do this? (yeah, yeah, sorry about the crappy quality)

Give it to your children, and tell them it is important. If you do not have children, by all means make some. They are useful for this particular purpose.

Haha.
