I don't care for the pointer-based UI navigation, since we're on consoles, not PC. I'm not really sure why they went that route. All I've done is the intro, which was rather bland, as would be expected for the introductory level. Going to play more in a few, see what's different.

Maybe they did it like that so they can port it to PC easily? I don't mind the cursor thing personally.

Yea the mouse thing does not bother me at all. The story overall seems kind of generic but it does have more which we have yet to see until the full game.

Seems like a lot of the game will be post level 20 grinding for specific factions to earn more favour from them to get legendary gear. Which I am OK with as long as they release more expansions and story elements down the line in say 3-6 months.

The factions are crucible based I believe and require crucible points and rank. The vanguard merchant and the class specific merchant accept PvE points (vanguard marks).

It seems like Bungie wanted the crucible to tie into the main game which is exploring, doing raids and story etc rather than be a separate experience altogether. I believe this because crucible normalizes all the character and equipment levels (iron banner not withstanding) but your equipment is not limited in any PvE activity. It's like they want people to compete to get the uber gear from crucible then go with their friends and show it off in a raid.

Edit: glitch to find Bunker RAS-2 discovered. Tutorial, images, and video on reddit.

Rolled a Warlock. Level 6, so far seems pretty fun. Not sure how well it will work in the 6v6 pvp. Tried it out, seems like just a bunch of people with sniper rifles. Guess I'll have to grab one.

Not sniper rifles, they use scout rifles.

Or get yourself the Cydonia-AR3 lv8 auto rifle with 57atk and level it up so you get 62atk with a 24 round magazine. It is the best auto rifle in the beta. The one I have gives bonus accuracy when firing from the hip. I want to find a lv8 uncommon scout rifle to play with and practice my precision fire but I cannot seem to find one. I get auto and pulse rifles.

Not really about Destiny itself, but do any of you use an iPad to visit Bungie.net and use the things there? A really bad experience for me... Things don't load properly, they're slow, can't really use the notifications that good or navigate the whole place... This is rather unacceptable in 2014 to have a site not usable on a tablet... Not to mention the companion app is only for the phones...

Was playing the destiny beta on xb1... went 6v6... and was murdered with one hit kills repeatedly. What the fuck? How does one get one hit kills? Controlling the character via control pad versus using a kb/mouse really sucks hard. PC Games 4 lyf3 d4wg. All hail our god GabeN.

And PSN is down D: What the F Sony? Again?

Haha. Well, the whole point of the beta is to stress the game and expose weak points so that they can fix them before release. Whether or not you actually get to see all available beta content is secondary. 😛

Headshots. I bet it wasn't one hit either, with the scout rifle you can do 3-4 shots back to back accurately. Plus the bonuses are still active. If they have an uncommon (green) weapon that gives extra stability under rapid fire or increased damage when zoomed, that will increase the probability of getting a kill with headshots.

Dunno I use it on my android phone and it seems alright. Stuff isn't formatted for the screen but I can navigate around.

I can't even login to PSN to play the beta ;-)

The lag is pretty bad right now, was playing some PvP and you'd empty a clip into someone, they'd teleport about 15 feet away, turn and shoot you.

Not much I can do to combat that kind of advantage so I'm done for the evening, did a few story mission earlier for loot and such. Got enough Glimmer to buy the expensive ship (not the level 15 one). Looks cooler than the standard ship.

ah well, back to counter strike. I might play some more later this evening around 9 or 10pm EDT if anyone wants to play. (PS4)

Well, the MP in Destiny seems full of people who act elitist. People are actually making posts on other forums telling people to stop playing if they suck and such. Its pretty bad. The problem is thatsome people are probably misunderstanding the MP. Aside from iron banner mode, your level and stats don't mean anything. So bcause the guy on your team was level 5 it shouldnt matter that much. Only your abilities and modifiers on your equipment matter. Say you have an auto rifle with 62atk and increased accuracy when firing from the hip. Only the firing from the hip bonus is in effect and your base atk is nerfed to create an even playing field. So it all comes down to skill. You have to keep playing to get better but there are people who are not that good in PvP and get ridiculed by their own team mates because they don't have a high k/d. That makes it not fun to play for people.

Some people who say the MP sucks don't realize these facts. Plus I have read that the game likes to start with uneven teams fairly often and that makes people drop out. Also some people have found weapons that shoot very fast and that eats through the opponent quickly. I am sure bungie will fix it since they expect people to play it to gain crucible rewards.

Yeah I figured some of these players just had a good combo of weapons. When the game actually gets released I will have to pay a lot of attention to set up for MP. I noticed I had better luck while sniping but something about the other rifles I have I don't like.

I know Bungie will adjust some of this stuff for the final release so I think they will get it as balanced as they can.

So far auto rifles and scout rifles are the weapons of choice in PvP, with a shotgun being useful for venus and a sniper rifle more useful for the moon.

Yea I didn't like the scout rifles but after using it in pvp I've grown to like it. Mainly since I can't find an auto rifle that does the same amount of damage.
