Yea I didn't like the scout rifles but after using it in pvp I've grown to like it. Mainly since I can't find an auto rifle that does the same amount of damage.

I still need to get the green level 8 auto rifle. I just have a standard one doing 51 damage. Everything else I have is basically max level for the beta I am pretty sure.

How do you find better weapons? Just kill and random baddies or do I have to explore more area.

Or should I replay some missions?

I got to finally play this pos beta(got to the point where I got a sniper rifle looking gun and made it past some trip mines) and keep getting a vulture error

You can get them through all of those ways, playing online PVP will drop some gear occasionally. Exploring around and killing enemies will give you random drops as well as the occasional chest you can loot which may or may not have a drop. Then playing missions. Especially the Strike mission. Also you can specify level 8 difficulty for the strike mission if you have already beat it on level 6 difficulty.

The vendors will also get new stock every few hours so you can find drops from them that you can pay for.

Got all these from exploring and random drops. This is the best assault rifle in the beta and the best rocket launcher and sniper rifle I have found (dunno if they are best).

Yea I ended up getting an auto rifle with 62 damage and a pulse rifle as well with similar stats. But of course you need to he level 9 to use it. Also reached crypto level 1 today.

Weird question. While playing the game it sounds as if the bass is turned up too high or maybe it's meant to sound like a speaker being pushed way to hard, somewhat like a resonance. Anyways, I'm curious if anyone hears what I'm describing? It doesn't happen all the time so I imagine it's meant to sound that way but every time I hear it I reach for the remote as if it's damaging the speaker.

I don't notice that...does it do it all the time or only at certain points?

edit: wouldn't ya know...I got my scout rifle just now.

Crypto 5 tonight. You get two purple engrams as rewards. One was a lvl 10 blue weapon and the other was a blue class item.

I forget my crypto rank...probably 2 or 3 I'd guess.

Do you rank up by buying engrams from the cryptarch as well or just for turning in stuff you find?

I'm digging the scout rifle so far. Gonna play with it more but I find it more fun than the auto rifle so far. Much better damage, especially on weak spots. Not as much over time but it seems to do 2x as much as my auto rifle which makes up for it with the stability under rapid semi-auto fire.

You rank by both buying engrams and by having the ones you found identified. I hit rank 3 yesterday and got 3 blue items from them as reward. The blue engram ended up being a lvl 9 green shotgun... there were also some crafting materials.

I tried all the guns and I like autorifles the most 🙂 Just spray and laugh 😀 Autorifle / Sniper / Machine gun is the combination I like most. Autorifles for typical enemies, snipers for enemy snipers and distant hard hitters and machine gun for downing elites or stronger types (Wizards, Hollow Knights, etc). In the special slot, the fusion rifle is also cool for wrecking things to pieces. I do not like the shotgun at all. Hand cannons are nice for precision kills, but they're not as fun as autorifles and take longer to kill things for me.

Handcanons get destroyed by scout rifles. My auto rifle does roughly 113dmg for a headshot on most normal enemies, scout rifle does 245dmg, sniper 1200+. I am testing out the scout/fusion/rocket launcher combo today as I just got a lv8 fusion rifle last night. The rocket launcher is invaluable against boss and sub boss characters to me. I really like the auto rifle too but I do enjoy taking a steady aim approach for weak points with the scout. I carry both so if I need sustained damage I can swap to my auto rifle.

As you said the shotguns aren't that great. Maybe in crucible up close, but in PvE I find other options to be superior.

I never got a good machine gun. If I do I will try it out.

Machine gun is really nice because you can take out several hard enemies using one clip. When you miss a rocket, that's a lot of damage wasted. Missing a few bullets with a machine gun doesn't matter that much. So yea, give it a go 🙂

I was using scout rifle, but I don't like to keep pulling the trigger for every shot (unless it's the hand cannon or sniper). And the autorifle shoots faster than I can pull the trigger, even if it's doing half of the damage. So a miss is not really that painful for you 🙂 Personal preference in the end, I guess.

Got drops for both the auto rifle I needed and the scout rifle I was curious about but didn't particularly need. Got a sweet level 9 scout rifle that gives extra ammo directly into the magazine with kills. So the more you kill the more ammo you have. I Imagine that's useful for conserving ammo while taking out low level mobs. Too bad it's level 9 so I can't try it out. And I doubt it'll carry over to the full game.
