Describe a GOOD/PREFERRED PERSONALITY for the opposite sex...

People were saying in her thread that the personality of many average looking gals was much better then the attractive ones...
so, describe the perfect (or preferred) personality of the opposite sex.
what is attractive to you? upbeat and happy? honest and realistic?
why do those things truly appeal to you?
 
ok aside from what DainBramaged said, a combination of gentle/kind and smart/witty...

EDIT: how could I forget, a sense of humor is a must...

Honest. Lying is the #1 turn-off for me
Non-gold digger. Finding a woman that truly does not allow money to influence her is very rare.
Compassionate. A woman who helps people just for the sake of helping people is attractive.
Light hearted. People like this are just fun to be around.
Average intelligence or greater.
Loyal. Non-cheater... never ever.

"princess" is one of my clue words. Any woman that refers to herself as a princess or has the word princess in any of her email or IM names raises a huge red flag in my mind. The USA is not a kingdom, there are no princesses here and that mindset is just saying, "I'm a spoiled brat that is detached from reality and expects men to worship me."

I have found that that word is in many more women's (not little girl) personalities now than before. I don't know why. Perhaps its the idea that men should bow down to the awesomeness that they *think* they are. :roll: i see it all the time and i would love to call them out on it. :|
 
Honesty. Lying turns me off quick as well. On another level: not playing mind games. If you want something, come out and say it without the test.
Intelligent. Above average at least.
Light-Hearted: People who are too serious can be intellectually stimulating, but otherwise boring.
Loyal: Never cheats. I know I havn't.
A sense of humor (kinda falls under light-hearted)
Mature: No ditzes please.
Athletic (in shape), but not obsessed with sports or exercise.
Secure: An insecure person is a quick turn off. Anyone who will accept abuse willingly (without cause) is near the bottom of my list.

Please do! 'Modern' women aren't listening to men. We're considered beneath them now. Maybe they'd listen to another woman, though I think they'd just label you a "disgrace to women" for saying anything against them.

As for me:
Yes, I am honest. I don't claim to have never lied, but I do claim to not lie frequently or have any desire to manipulate people.
Yes, I'm not a gold digger. I don't care how much money a girl has or doesn't have. In fact, I'd prefer not to know her financial situation at all until we're far enough into a relationship that she knows it won't matter.
Compassionate. I try to be.
Light Hearted. This area I need more work, but when I'm in a good mood.. yes
Average intelligence or greater. Yes, I have this.
Loyal. yes, I have never cheated. Not once.
