OK, I'm reading the play by play online. It says Ortiz grounded out to the pitcher, but the run scored? Was the guy on 3rd running like his ass was on fire or something?

Isasir, everybody moved up... A Rod bobbled the ball like three times and couldn't even make a single out.

no, on Ortiz' grounder, it was to the first base side and past the pitcher's mound. Rivera's only play was to 1st.

A rarity.. Mariano taken out of the game and there are actually some boo birds. Never heard boos toward Rivera before.

Heh, I wouldn't count your chickens yet. Mariano has had troubles with control before, most people just seem to forget that. He got hit really hard in 97 several times. Didn't he also get something like 50 saves last year? He'll bounce back.

If the Red Sox have Rivera's number then give credit to the Sox...now if Rivera is like this against other ballclubs then the Yanks should worry.

I think Rivera will be just fine.

Props to the Sox for getting to Rivera twice in a row. Is Mariano done? Way too early to tell, and you don't just lose it in one year like that. But he certainly had no control today, and that is very strange. You never see him lose the plate like he did today. Perhaps he's hurt? Who knows, way too early for anything.

I don't think Rivera is done by any stretch. Despite the past two days, I don't think any fans likes seeing him come out of the bullpen to close a game.

If anything the last two games further illustrate how its going to be one long season between the Red Sox and Yankees.
