What battle? Wounded Knee was a massacre carried out in implementing a policy of genocide.
Given recent incidents of ICE detaining native Americans and discussions around parallels between the battle of wounded knee and Israel/Gaza strip it would not be a stretch that this is another one of the administration's petty "f00k you, im doing this out of evil spite" acts.

Remember that he is an extremist christian white nationalist who spends time with some really screwed up people.

The notion that white Christian are entitled to the land no matter the cost whether it be the massacre of Indians or the massacre of the current residents of Israel (jews and Palestinians) so that they can all swoop in, take over Jerusalem to hang out with zombie jesus.

Its still the Department of Defense, Trump is just trying to aura farm.

This Presidency is just classic style over substance, you know the thought process was "If we call him the Secretary of War it'll be easier to bully other countries without having to actually, you know, do anything!"
When you do things like this it cause a reaction from other countries
