That is because AP has aluminum compounds that even back then I thought might be something to be concerned about. And people are supposed to take showers everyday, so a deodorant should do the job.

What about you?

At this point the antiperspirant / deodorant distinction is mostly meaningless. Many varieties of both types of products contain active metal ingredients.

That may be the case for combos AP/D, but since I use 100% deoderant only, Old Spice High Endurance Deodorant there arent any metals:

Ingredients: Depropylene glycol, water, proypylene glycol, sodium stearate, fragarance, ppg-3 myristyl ether, tetrasodium edta, violet #2, green #6.

Deodorant. If you need something that will keep your pits smelling good, pick up some Degree Sport for Men.

My best friend works in a natural foods store and got me into using old spice classic, since hippie deodorants don't work but old spice deodorant is simple and effective. It's basically alcohol.

He says you should see autopsy's of armpits of people who used antiperspirant and it's all grey.

Sure they're safe for everyday use, but there are lots of studies that link higher rates of Alzheimer's disease to exposure to metals, particularly aluminum.

That is dealing with people in an industrious setting. Folks that practically inhale the stuff.

I'll generally use deodorant (Old Spice High Endurance), but picked up some antiperspirant recently as well, given that I have a few shirts which do a wonderful job of accentuating ANY amount of sweat.

AP. It doesn't stop me from sweating though so it must not be working that well.

Deodorant alone kills the bacteria that causes stink. AP mixes with sweat and creates a goo that clogs your pores so you can't sweat. I've never heard of anyone getting cancer from AP although some people freak out over aluminum compounds.

When I use antiperspirant, the armpits on my white shirts (t-shirts) develop reddish pit stains. So, no AP for me - just deodorant (and no pit stains, either!).

I used to use Old Spice, don't like it, too harsh.

I use Gillette 3x. The gel can be messy but it works really well.

I can't, I sweat more when I use that shit.

I use D/AP as well. Not that the AP part helps, at all, since my pits still run like a faucet. 5'9, 140 lbs, and cut, definitely not out of shape, but I break a sweat getting my keys out of my fucking pocket. I usually change shirts during the day.

The link between deodorant and Alz. is NOT there. I had a prof. who worked on one of the studies. Basically extreme aluminum poisoning has symptoms that are similar to Alzheimers. There has NEVER been a link shown between deodorant and alzheimers. You'd have to eat 1000 sticks per day to even get poisoning.

Both cause cancer of the armpit...what difference does it make how you die? (ref to the emails disproven on snopes ;) )

I recommend antiperspirant. In extreme conditions, it's more comfy than just deodorant. Keep you dryer according to the commercials.

Deoderant. I don't sweat much when I wear it, and the ladies like how it makes me smell. I've actually had girls just nestle into my armpits to sniff me. :D

Edit: I use Old Spice btw, usually just the "Fresh" one.

I use whatever is on sale, as long as it's white or clear when going on. Otherwise, I've found that colored sticks will stain my shirts over time.

I'm a big sweater and have auxillary hyperhidrosis (in the armpits) so I normally get sweat stains 10-12" in diameter under my arms and down the sides of my shirt. Without going to the doctor (they have never helped me and I really don't trust them :p) I picked up a product called CertainDri, as recommended to me on another forum. It's a roll-on antipersperant that you apply before bed and it has solved my embarrasing problem! As a photographer, it was pretty embarrasing to be in a cool church and sweat like I was running a marathon. That type of thing happens all the time for me, though, so I know it wasn't just stress-related. I could be in a cool classroom and the same thing would happen.

Long story short, CertainDri + any white/clear deodorant or even antipersperant that's on sale. :)

Gillette clear gel cool wave. I dont have to worry about sweating because i havent had a drop pf sweat out of my armpits since 10th grade.

I used this stuff called drysol for a few nights and it sealed up my pores. I used to sweat so much from my arm pits. Even when i was cold just sitting there in class. They would literally drip. Even when i excersize i dont sweat anymore from my pits. If u sweat a lot try it!!!!!

I just use Old Spice original deoderant. Anti-perspirant doesn't work for me, even the perscription stuff. I sweat like no other.

Thats my line of thinking. Not to mention, scraping off AP from my arms in the shower isnt too appealing.

I tried an anti-perspirant years ago, and it burned my underarms. I'll stick with deodorant.
