Yep, but the whole purpose is a microwave is quickness. What's the point if it takes just as long as an oven?

For me the whole purpose is to cook something I can no longer cook in the oven because the packaging has changed. I don't mind if it takes a few minutes.

I too would like to check out that microwave. My Kenmore microwave does popcorn by auto sense...but I don't think it senses anything else.

I still have my Emerson 800W microwave from college. I wish that the damn thing would just die so I have a good excuse to replace it, but it's been going strong and under cooking my food for 10 years now :(

This thread makes anyone who can actually cook and does so on a regular basis seem like an elitist.

About time. Welcome to the 20th century. Maybe in 10 years you'll venture into the 21st. ;)

The first microwave my parents bought, which was probably more than 15 years ago, has a name that could make people nervous: Quasar. Ok, so quasars are the most energetic objects known in the Universe. Maybe that's not such a good thing to keep in your kitchen.

"Cook all of the food in your entire house in an instant with the touch of a button! Caution: Maintain safe distance of at least 1,000,000 light years. Do not look directly at appliance when in operation. Do not put metal in microwave."

700 watts?! that's not a microwave, that is a timer. a 700 watt may as well be one of those easy bake ovens with a lightbulb inside.

You seriously haven't had one all this time? Your $40 was worth more to you than convenience?

I did not need one before. Now I do.

Why do you NEED one now?
