Why does Old Republican DGAF energy go straight to fucked over literally everyone they don't like, while Old Democrat DGAF energy is actual low T "just the facts ma'am" bullshit?

Bernie Sanders is the only old guy with proper DGAF energy and he's an independent for Christ's sake!

Because Bernie thinks socialism is for the poor's, not the elite.

This may not be the full post but whatever is there, is worth a read I think.

And this is why we have primaries and shouldn't annoint people without vetting:

At least for ME, there are more than two people running in the primary and it uses ranked choice.

Woof.
I really want some firebrand candidates in Maine, but can someone who isn't so problematic stand up?

Why are Democrats and Big Media still trying to hold people accountable for stupid shit they posted on the Internet? Given the current state of affairs, what he posted barely registers. Hell, It may make some people like him more.

-Bruh that's like a 2.6 on the give-a-shitter scale nowsdays...
Sorry, but I think we can exclude Nazis from the big tent party, especially when they want to be a senator. He had years to fix this "mistake".

Per Wikipedia, there are many declared candidates. Surely, one is neither a Nazi nor a geriatric:

Declared
Natasha Alcala, fashion designer[31]
David Costello, former deputy secretary of the Maryland Department of the Environment, and nominee for U.S. Senate in 2024[32]
David Evans, former Department of Defense policy writer[33]
Tucker Favreau, cybersecurity professional[34]
Janet Mills, Governor of Maine (2019–present)[35]
Graham Platner, Sullivan Harbor Master[36]
Daira Smith-Rodriguez, former civilian contracting officer for the U.S. Air Force[37]
Jordan Wood, former chief of staff to U.S. Representative Katie Porter[38]

With so little to go on, and so many red flags, I think the people in my state should just look at one of the other 7 candidates running. Having some standards of "no Nazi tattoos" shouldn't be a big deal, but people are acting like it is a purity test. It's insane the amount of shit a rugged-looking white guy who says progressive things is allowed to get away with.

Dems are ripe for a hostile takeover by the progressive left. Why not work towards that rather than waddling off silent into the night?

Same article.

Just shows how Cuckries and Cuck Shoomer are regarded.

I'd bet half the people upset at Democrats are upset because they can't stop stuff when they are in the minority (like, the whole problem with being the minority in government), and there is a whole ecosystem built up around hating Democrats. It brings you clicks and attention. It's gothuevos's entire personality.

And here we sit in the middle of a shutdown precipitated by Democrats largely standing their ground and refusing to give their votes for nothing in return, just as people were screaming that was what they wanted, and what do people do? Let's shit on Democrats even more. Make it make sense.

Speaking of the insane double standards that exist:

A good answer from Gallego; but it also just shows the inherent bias in the media ecosystem: everything is Murc's Law, only Democrats need to abide by norms, and only Democrats have agency.

That's not it at all.

A lot of people are disillusioned with Dems for having zero foresight in how to deal with Trump. For losing the working class, young males and young voters in general and having the audacity that "not Trump" would simply carry the day. For losing the messaging battle. They effectively acted as zero backstop to the situation we are in now. And they still don't have a plan.

Make it make sense.

Trust is like glass.

Once shattered..

So while I'm happy they're standing up for our rights and health care.. I'm just not sure I trust them to not surrender because they are the party that will sell out to billionaire interests and demonize Bernie Sanders!

Just speaking for myself though..

"Working class" - why don't you just say "white people"? I'm tired of this bs euphemism that for some reason (racism) excludes genuinely working class people who happen to be Black or Hispanic or some other non-White ancestry.

Wait…what???

I get it. The average voter thinks nothing like me, and probably doesn’t give a fuck about “saving democracy” because they never understood it in the first place. They think with their pocketbook first.

At the same time, I think a moderate dose of “we told you so” is warranted, lest we run the risk of people thinking both parties are exactly the same. Not weaving that in as a central tenet of the strategy to take Congress back is a mistake IMO, because it normalizes what Trump has done to Congress, the courts, the military and other institutions.

The message should be “make your vote matter, and vote for a Congress that fights for you—not for the President and his billionaire donors”.

-"Its the economy, stupid" is always a winning message and frankly one that the Dems should never have stepped off of.

Everything else is negotiable if jobs/wages/inflation etc are on the line, cause what's the point of it isn't making your life better?

Democracy or any other system of governance are only as good as how broadly they benefit the general population. If people feel their life sucks, they will always abandon democracy for the promise of a better life.

After a few decades of Reaganomics, a moderate message from Democrats fell on deaf ears.
Fascism and magical thinking took hold.
Assuming it is not too late, we need a spark and some magic of our own.
