The democratic canidate for the 7th congressional disctrict has filed suit to stop release of elecation results.

Denver Post story

I'm not in this district but from the negative ads I saw I wouldn't have voted for either of the two major party canidates.

Do you seriously think if the situations were reversed, the Republican wouldn't do the exact same thing?

I haven't heard of Republicans filing lawsuits on elections, but maybe it hasn't happened lately - a link would be cool :)

What do you expect from democrats?

Still, he said he won't mount a legal challenge, and that he's hopeful that perhaps the Legislature will examine the unanswered questions surrounding polling places kept open longer and fraudulent absentee ballots and voter registration cards turned in

They like to vote early and vote often...

I knew it was a sham when the guy was up by 1200 votes with 99% in and then he somehow lost votes while the Dems gained 1700 and the win.

Some seem to think that elections are almost a somewhat unnecessary formality..that through lawsuits, results can be changed as they see fit..slight exaggeration perhaps, but still..

The question has been asked "Do you seriously think if the situations were reversed, the Republican wouldn't do the exact same thing?"

Can't say as to the details in Colorado, but Thune in South Dakota lost by only 525 votes, despite some allegations of shenanigans on some Indian reservations, he isn't suing, nor is he asking for a re-count.

So probably not

Edit note- just saw the "probably not " link above- already covered what I'd said

No, I don't think they would do any different. However, I haven't seen any cases of the Republicans filing suit because they don't like the results. Since I never vote for members of the two main parties my canidates are always on the loosing end of elections. Colorado is a home rule state so each county/city can make their own laws to suit their needs. For example the city I live in taxes groceries while most cities don't.

Reminds me of that Simpsons episode where Clinton is on cause Lisa is whining about the band contest she lost.

Bill: "If something doesn't go your way, whine until it does"
Marge: Well thats a lousy lesson
Bill: Well I'm a lousy president

:D

If the Republican got more votes and can prove it in court by COUNTING the votes, I hope he succeeds.

Listen up you ignorant retard. What I said is 100% true.

It's fully fledged partisans, like you, who lack the mental acumen to see in something other than black and white that's the problem. If you really think that all Democrats behave in a certain way, and all Republicans behave in the exact opposite, but correct way all of the time, you're as blinded by ignorance as Jerry Falwell.

Why did Thune behave is this way? Who knows. Maybe he didn't have the heart to continue. Maybe he was too tired from the campaign. Maybe his family asked him not too, maybe he knew he would lose no matter what. Maybe his is a big man who knows how to lose with dignity. Whatever the reason, he doesn't represent the action of all Republicans in all situation no matter what you think.

In the other contest there is a real question of the outcome because of the new district. Feely isn't asking for something unfair. He's asking that all votes that should be counted are counted, and all votes that should not be counted aren't counted. There seems to be a real question about the actual registration and districting of voters.

You need to get over your childish view of Republicans good, fire bad. Republicans and Democrats both look out for one thing, themselves.

Sorry if I rambled. I'm in the middle of a statistical database analysis presentation.

As a footnote, I don't remember Jean Carnahan challenging her election, and it was very close.

She was illegally elected by Missouri state law and John Ashcroft did not challenge!
